the owner place booking for 1.6 FL initially but the sale person informed him that the waiting time is quite long and offer him FLX. He took the offer and get the FLX instead as he need a car for travelling at that moment..kesian him but lucky he is all right and didn't involved in accident
CVT belt doesn't just break that easy right? this is also my first time hearing such issue with CVT GB, at first when driver told my colleague saying that he suspected something like belt break off, my colleague say impossible is CVT Belt as the car is so new. But after COE claim that it is true about the broken belt my colleague and was just  doh.gif and speechless  shocking.gif  really hope that this is 1/1,000,000 of the unlucky major QC problem from Punch bcz I was thinking of asking my sis to buy the 1.6 CVT if there is any  unsure.gif

what can say, flx is a white mouse for cvt..as a owners, just dont give up to claim warranty

in every parts there will be issue, but hopefully it wont be like iafm issues where almost very saga blm will have iafm problems..but it can be considered minor la, because your car still can be driven.

but if cvt gearbox got problem, u car cannot run...hopefully this is an isolated case..

2 kind yes but both doesn't just break like that
i believe it's punch's manufacturing defect
this happen when something is mass produced
it's very common
proton won't know it has any defect or not as well

but i hardly see ppl change the tensioner belt, although some websites advise to change it..then feel the car like new..

after i overhauled the car, they change the timing belt, but re-used the old tensioner belt

found some info

yup true need to ask when its due, from the website it says

QUOTE
They should require no maintenance unlike their predecessors the V-Belt that needed periodic adjusting. But the fact of the matter is they don't last forever and they do need to be inspected often to keep you from getting stuck. If it starts to go bad, you can replace it at a time of your choosing and not when the belt decides for you. Checking ribbed drive belts at every oil change, and the position of the self-adjusting mechanism indicator, will insure you catch a bad belt long before it snaps.
