ICE of coz need the whole set to work efficiently. But compared with speakers, woofers, tweeters, amplifier and Head unit, changing the head unit will get the most significant gain in audio sound quality due to the enhancement chip and whatever chip which makes the song sounds nicer is built in the HU itself, not in the speakers or tweeters. How "enhanced" is the sound quality depends on your HU brand and your budget. Some brand are more for clarity and some are for bass.
Changing the speakers and tweeters and will further enhance the sound quality but not that much. Adding in woofer and amplifier brings everything to another level but these two needs a good HU in order to produce the best sound. If you put in amplifier in an ICE with a cheap HU that produce cheap sound, you're basically amplifying cheap sound. If your HU is producing quality sound, you are amplifying quality sound.
Totally agree wif u bro.
HU is jz like engine of a car, play a main role in the whole system

My advise is just the opposite. In terms of priority to change:
1) Speakers
2) Add amps
3) Wiring
4) HU
Of course, if budget allows, change 1, 2, 3 at one go can save on labour costs. HU would be my last item to upgrade cos OEM model is acceptable although can be better, but I could be wrong. I haven't started on my ICE journey yet, now still looking for good speakers.
Talk bout priority, i will agree wif ur statement bro
I would call this as enhancement,
It's jz like modding car, normally ppl wil change wider rims n tyres 1st, den do low-down, add performance stuffs etc..
Once all enhancement done,
The last step onli will be change to bigger power engine
This is what we will do la if step by step.
Speaker and amps does can change the sound quality alot,
Comparing to stock speaker + good HU, versus component set & amplifier + stock HU,
Definitely the better wil be the latter.
However, frm ur steps there, I would choose to switch between 3 & 4,
Cz for me, switching better wiring is quite a waste if u stil using stock player,
The effect is minimum, I would rather change a decent HU 1st..
Jz my 2 cents here

Wow, suddenly alot of argument about audio system...
My ICE priority is
1. Speaker.
2. HU
sometimes ppl tends to believe HU can enhance the sound, simply because it give user more room to change the sound, such as eq. But in fact if u switch both stock player to default flat setting, both will sound same, at least this apply to entry level aftermarket hu.
Speaker is a component to produce sound, it will determined the most for sound quality.
Bro, nowadays HU nt only adjust EQ only,
some high end HU can adjust time-alignment, producing sound stage,
nt to mention high pass filter, low pass filter, subwoofer on/off setting and etc..
But I do agree wif u that speaker plays a main role,
without proper speaker, u would not get the right sound even u hv the most canggih HU in the world.
And actually I don't really like to do extreme setting on HU,
as I feel that the sound produced out will be quite "fake"..
Actually for me, it doesnt hv such statement that which one is more important,
It's all about the BUDGET
Budget problem onli comes out what priority prob mah,
If you have the budget, who cares which one to change 1st?
Jz change all sekaligus lo, cheers

not sure bro, later after i buy neo steering will try it out..
Bro, if ur manual is same as what the pic u showed me,
I think u need a module to do setting for ur steering control..
As the pic u showed me there stated:
"To use the steering wheel remote control, you need an
exclusive remote adapter (not supplied) matches ur car is required".
I think stil need a module la, cz nt every car's steering control provides the same function,
Perhaps u can jz plug n play without the module,
But mayb ur MUTE button will become FORWARD button,
or ur VOLUME button become FORWARD button, and so on..
