Not the batteries. Because when I press the Power button, it can still switch the player on / off. The only buttons working are:

1. Power on/off
2. Mute
3. Eject
4. VFD
5. Timer
6. 16:9
7. Bookmark
8. Volume
9. Right key

I've contacted ccs221, but not reply so far.

This player is still very good as a media player and it's what we primarily use it. I really hope to find a replacement remote, than to discard such a good working player.

You can try Cetusplay TV client and remote (Wukong) on your phone device at the moment. You can find them in playstore.

Nope! I'm using himedia H8 plus and the TM white box. I install cetusplay/wukong to both of the devices.

1. install cetusplay TV client to the tv box.
2. install cetusplay remote to the handheld device.
3. open the cetusplay TV client
4. open the cetusplay remote on the handheld and it will sync and you can see the host device on the network map. it there are a few host devices that has cetusplay client you can select which one you wanted to connect to.

The remote is the white color one.

Maybe try open up the remote casing and clean the contacts if possible.

Those remotes are usually very durable, do not fail easily.

I think more likely the firmware's corrupted, esp if last firmware update was a long time ago.

I would reinstall the final firmware and see it all goes back to normal.


And yes, if u primarily use it for media playback, it is good for a long time to come!

Tried that and firmware installation went well. But when I get to screen which shows the Menu Language, Time and 1 more menu, I couldn't navigate because of the remote

It's been fixed in latest Kodi v17.2 and VLC.. Even Popcorntime too.. Unfortunately, those still stuck with older versions have to be more cautious.

I've just bought the Q5 Pro.. great player, just want to ask how to get the player to detect dts,dd ot true hd sound? All I'm getting is just 2.1 sound.. fyi, I'm connecting the box thru avr with hdmi cable.. And I'm streaming online to watch movies.. Is it because of the streaming not supporting 5.1 sound? pls help

what u get depends on:

1. source
2. player
3. audio system - avr, home theater, soundbar, tv audio...

online videos are almost all 2.0.

5.1, 7.1, dts, dd, dtshdma, ddtruehd - u get from playback of yr own files.

Using the "Open With" feature as a workaround for now is safer.. Can open with Kodi, download subs and playback from there..

q5pro can do even ddatmos and dtsx - if u hv those files.

online, almost all 2.0 becos digital and hd audio files are much larger, hard to deliver, hard to get, u need higher speeds.

only a small % on the planet hv such high speeds.
