Unifi PlayTV working fine, haven't try AstroGO..

Yes.. can change position but can't change the size for embedded subs, so need to turn it off as it is too big for me.

PlayTv was not available via Play store, I had to install via apk.

both work good, no problem.
very decent picture quality for original HD channels.

firmware 208 is good for q10pro; been using a week now.
best firmware to date, stable, no observed bugs for my usage.

have posted before, posting again... a great utility app - APK Time.
it is self updating, provides the latest popular apps updates... many r modified or pro versions.
terrarium, freeflix, livenettv, mobdro.
brave browser, mx pro, u torrent pro.
can get a lot out of all these great apps.

Installed OFW 2.0.8, being so used to CFW, not happy with the theme and removal of built in Chromecast function. Found that they partially fixed the subtitle bug, and the subtitle download function is still broken (tested with Ferdinand). Gonna try the CFW which is newly released today, downloading now as we speak, will share if I see anything new smile.gif

subtitle bug... what bug do u face? what type of sub, file?

there was some skipping in earlier versions but 208 is good... i tested thoroughly with many of my own collection, so far so good.

yes... online sub downloading feature not fixed on native player... for that, i use mx pro.

i tested cfw once... just for astrogo, but with 208, that is moot, no need.

the thing i was unhappy with CFW was that with kodi quasar, it did not give DD/DD+ audio (only aac2.0), whereas OFW does.

let me know if new CFW can do that... just to know, thanks.

.srt file, somehow it just doesn’t load via native player but it worked with MX
Faced the same issue with The Foreigner on 2.0.7 but the new OFW fixed it
Sure, will let you know if I find anything about it, but I think I shared before that none of my low end equipment can show whether its DD or AAC 2.0, but will double check 😀

i had used a few srt's on some tv shows... so far ok.

one thing if u can just check at the native player - the sub position should be 0.

for certain files with embedded subs like bdmv, u may have set the position to -15x to get subs position lower, into the bottom black bar for elegance.

that will cause srt subs in other files to be too low to be displayed - hence, no subs.

I just bought the Q10 pro but I am facing some issue and hope someone can help me out as I search through this forum but can't find the solution.

I connected my 2TB HDD (from old media player) into the dock and all work well except I can't see this 2TB HDD from my PC/Notebook but I can see the internal drive (16GD).

I needed to see this 2TB HDD from my PC/Notebook as I need for files transfer.

Thanks...

Reporting back with CFW, strongly not recommended to install. It has serious performance issue, playback stutters very often on both local and network stream. Going to revert back to OFW ☹️

Anyone can tell me if I can I revert back to FW 2.0.7 from 2.0.8 without reinstalling everything?

Eversince I updated to 2.0.8 , it has screwed up my fairly new Yamaha AVR . Sound can passthrough the Yamaha to the tv in standby, but the AVR itself no more sound. Even activate the test tone is silent.

I reset the AVR to factory default once and it worked again. But after I switched on the Q10pro and played a dts movie, then later it went silent again.

Now I do a factory reset again , this time the AVR no longer have any sound permanently. Need to send for repairs.

Subsequent to the above , thank my lucky stars I noticed the 'Ver Error' message appearing on the AVR screen every now and then. I checked the FW version number info on the AVR and sure enough the number was blank, indicating it was corrupted.

So I downloaded the FW from Yamaha website and reflashed, and was relieved all is well again.

unless u must save rm100 or so, better go for q5pro.

q30 is a q5pro washed down version, essentially.

same 2/8gb, but differences... q5pro has a slightly better hisilicon chipset, dual band wifi, bluetooth.

and i m not sure if latest q30 firmware will be able to do astrogo/unifi playtv like q5pro - this u gotta check.

then again, if yr requirements are basic, will be ok.

2.0.8 still has problems with srt subtitles like 2.0.7.

1) Certain lines will not appear on and off.

2) The last subtitle will remain on the screen indefinitely when there is no further subtitle to replace it. ( E.g someone says something and the subtitle appears. Then there is a long period of silence, so the last subtitle will remain on the screen , until later when there is dialogue only then the new subtitle will replace the last one.)

i know what u r talking about...

1. i noticed this problem in 203, but 204 already fixed it, the following ones were ok too.
Tested with same 2 files that had problem with 203... one srt, one idx.. good with 208.

2. yes, this happens with some subs. i notice it happens with lower grade videos' embedded subs.
never had that with bigger files... bdmv, those with dtshdma, ddtruehd.

i would think this is partly due to poor sub encoding. u probably wanna get better files!

also, check the sub position is set at 0 as too low a position will cut off parts of 1st line and 2nd line - i have experimented with this.

I am talking more about srt ( mkv). The subtitles I tested on old media player, no problem, so it's the Q10pro problem. It's not about positioning, but rather some parts of dialogue get skipped completely, then the following ones appear. And later some get skipped again. And so the cycle is repeated.

Anyway I always set subtitles position higher than 0.

For Bdmv/ iso I haven't tested much yet, mostly 3d, but so far no problem.
