Got new FW just released for 910A at Himedia Forums. But I don't read chinese. Maybe you can try it out.

I just bought my HD-910A last week on impulse. Was curious about Internet surfing using Media Player. As suspected, Internet slow and clumsy. Should have researched first

Anyway I don't use any network streaming nor have any 3D movies or 3D TV. Don't even use HD Audio , just old 5.1 Receiver.

So now want to sell it off as I have no real use for this player (As I already have my old RT1073 player, which is sufficient tor MKV playback).

Any one want to buy 1 week old 910A (got 1yr warranty from shop in Digital Mall, Sect 14) can PM me.

I have only installed Kodi on my PC a few weeks ago. I can't exactly help you much because I was like trial and error, look for youtube tutorial, google etc.

To tell you the truth, I can't even remember the exact steps how I got it working in the first place. Even now I am fumbling around.

Anyway, I can't say these free stuff will be a good experience all the time. I don't really have a fixed internet line, just using some hotspot service and so far at certain times it appears be smooth but quite often there will be lots of buffering and frustration.

Just don't expect too much unless you got a really fast and stable line. Also will depend on the traffic/performance of the server from where you are getting the streams from.

Actually I am currently watching Roland Garros Live on Foxsport HD right now, (Sharapova playing, maybe Federer match next ) , and I have come to the conclusion that even with a hotspot wireless average connection of 3mbps, the speed is capable of handling a smooth and continuous stream. I have for the first time just watched a whole game with just minimum hiccups.

I now strongly believe the buffering and pauses which often happens at other times are more due to the traffic over at the Server end and also the Hotspot provider end. It's not due to the 3mbps speed itself.

Black screen as in 'hang' or what ? Can you stop the movie and get back the Home screen ?

You are mad. Why not just get unifi or something with unlimited data. Any reason for avoiding TM? Blacklisted maybe ?

I am using Wireless Hotspot Service for only RM30/- p.m at 3mbps speed on PC and I can watch movies and TV series all day using Kodi. For sports streaming , it's sometimes smooth (during daytime) but not good during peak hrs at night.

For your Himedia it shouldn't be too expensive to get 5Mbps unlimited data for around RM150/-

Are you watching F1 now? Skysports F1. What a start by Massa, snatched lead from Hamilton.

The very first time it hang, is out of the blue ? You sure you didn't change anything or install anything or update the firmware etc. ?

Are you also saying now after flashing to the 1.0.6.3 fw, it's different problem now? Can play video but sometimes randomly have the IO error?

Since it's different problem, but at least can play video, so could be FW problem.

I suggest you force flash back to the original FW and try again. Those newer Himedia FW have been known to give the I/O error for your model.

Who you buy from, maybe they can help you out.

Ask the App vendor first, then the Device Vendor. Check whether your remote got any other button which can go direct to setup to change the default Home.

The official website FW are the ones which are the most problematic for 910A model. Maybe they sell diff models for their China Market and Intl Market which causes FW problems, not sure.

Regarding your original FW problem of Black Screen, it might be related to some MKV movies which were encoded with Header Compression. After you revert to your previous FW, you should test other MKVs which have been known to work before to make sure it is not only some movies.

All these free stuff by every Tom, Dick and Harry you expect all to be like Netflix?

They use phone HD camera to capture so they call 'HD' la. New movies not even release on bluray yet where can get real HD, you think la.

Want to view HD then find those older ones already released on bluray. Even if already released on bluray, you probably come across those previously posted from the pre-bluray release period.

910A can even play 3D ISO and Passthrough DTS-MA And Dolby TrueHD.

Only thing it's a media player foremost, with the Android added as a marketing gimmick, very pathetic.

It was very pathetic, the Android performance was so sluggish it was almost unusable. Like a toy compared to actual Android boxes which were appearing at that time which used Chips meant for android.

But as a Media Player espc 3D ISO it was first class. I am using it till today with my collection of more than 100+ 3D ISO .

The remote is the white color one.

Maybe try open up the remote casing and clean the contacts if possible.
