Thank you for the above highlights. At least I know I connect it right

Btw, my TV is LG Oled55B6 and Soundbar is LGsh7. Both device have HDMI ARC capability. I tried connecting Q10 to SH7 (HDMI IN) and SH7 to TV using HDMI ARC. But i do not hear any sound coming out from the soundbar. Is this correct way to connect all the above devices? I'm thinking that I might be using old HDMI (not HDMI 2) so yesterday I just order a new HDMI Cable with ARC function. I will test it again once I got the new cable. If still no sound, then there goes the RM50 cable down to drain.
tv and soundbar hdmi arcs come in diff shapes and sizes, capabilities.
u need to read yr tv and soundbar manuals to know what they are capable and not capable of.
e.g. some arcs can only do dd, can't deliver dts audio.
https://www.cnet.com/news/what-is-audio-return-channel-arc/also, it depends what files u r playing.
and sound bar is 2.0 or 2.1.
audio pass thru has little meaning in yr case, it is for full home theater hd audio 5.1, 7.1.
if q10pro->hdmi->tv, no need to use tv arc.
just connect q10pro->soundbar with toslink or coaxial, either will work.
u get the both tv audio and soundbar audio.
no need to attempt all kinds of hdmi and arc, etc.
becos the soundbar won't be able to deliver great sound anyway.
note:
hdmi carries both video and audio.
so, q10pro->hdmi->tv assures u get the best video incl 4k, hdr, 10 bit, hevc (if yr files are such) to yr oledtv, with tv audio.
if u do q10pro->soundbar->tv, check if the soundbar can pass thru 4k video. if it doesn't, yr tv cannot get 4k videos but a downgraded 1080p or nothing.
q10pro->toslink->soundbar gives u max dd/dts audio but not higher grade audio.
if u want hd audio like dtshdma, ddtruehd when playing the right files, u need to get a full home theater system.
to get the best of the best u need 4 things in order: right source (files), right player (q10pro), right video display (tv) and right audio output (home theater). the weakest link will bring all of them down to lowest common denominator.
of course, if u r playing back simple small files like or xvid, mp4, aac, 2.0, any setup will do, won't matter much - poor in, poor out - whatever devices or cables used.
