Samba 101A lot of people talk but never done Samba. Here is how for Himedia. #1. Settings/Other/Samba...enable This starts the service only...but it got nothing to do yet #2. Launch HiDLNA.apk (my q16 or similar for others)...select sharing, then select "drives" &/ folders to share... Edit: PS... I read q10 pro uses happycast & not HiDLNA, and mount only sd1...so need to investigate further... Himedia uses this system app to manage sharing...this tells Samba what to do....you're now done !!! Now you can use Windows/Mac/Linux/Android/iPhone to read from & write to the box. PCs have native client built-in, phones need to make sure the file manager got "remote" or "network" function. My earlier example was using phone to access box via Wi-Fi @ 192.168.0.103...thru Samba. Note all devices must be connected to the same network ip/subnet...usually not a problem with most people. If you have more than one router network or run DDNS...you know what to do This post has been edited by dwRK: Feb 10 2017, 09:58 AM

QUOTE(sbd @ Feb 9 2017, 08:08 PM) Yes HDD slotted inside the q10 pro. Use any colour USB post also cannot see any drive/PC/network inside PC. I suppose it is because it is a 3tb drive or the size of sector format in NTFS is not what is expected. Anyone else with experience? Follow the step here: Link 1And the other FAQ Link 2I have the same issue like you before.

Can download the apk file from Kodi downloads page. Version 17 for Android 5.0 and above.. Version 16.1 for lower android versions.

Being a gift and all.. Then setup as you would prefer.

Thats the kind of box i had as a first! I think it is a 2/8gb emmc. You will find it a bit slow but it will work for the most part. If u find kodi not working well, check the memory... may be too small to do much. Usb playback should be ok incl hd audio if the firmware is the last one.

Can anyone know whats is wrong, any optimisation for the Q5 or Kodi?

And your NAS streaming speed.

Only sound, no video. Similar sound-no picture with TS reported on the net (but don't know which TV boxes they are using). Maybe my Pana TV is not up to the standard? Thought it can downgrade the picture to suit the TV. Tried it with VLC on Q5 Pro, got sound and picture, but the picture was breaking out. Can play AOK with VLC on my PC. Can play other videos non TS on my Q5 Pro. Looks like some compatibility issue with this TS on Q5 Pro. I have tried a TS file on Kodi web and it plays AOK.
