QUOTE(ckuanglim @ Apr 13 2011, 05:41 PM) I got my HSBC Gold Visa with the GST waived. I apply through a promotion in Mid-Valley. The sales agent told me that they give the GST waived only in the promotion. Is the monthly statement show the GST was waived?A question here, do you guys have the HSBC Security Device? |

Fussy criteria is to ensure spending happens ... T&C are written with the bank in mind, not the consumer. I normally avoid these promos as I don't feel the bank is sincere. Just want me to spend my hard earned money using their card. So I just say NO! |

QUOTE(hye @ May 5 2011, 11:20 PM) That's the whole idea ... consumers spends like mad with the hope to get some prizes but later make a mistake. I couldn't say it any better. HSBC is up to their usual bag of cheap tricks, yet again. This particular 'promo' requires swiping the card at least 7 times during May, and each swipe must be RM50 or above. Waste of time, IMO. Mind you, it's not a guaranteed cash back either.Fussy criteria is to ensure spending happens ... T&C are written with the bank in mind, not the consumer. QUOTE(mletee @ May 6 2011, 06:44 PM) that's true, almost as high as AMEX when I did a comparison in 2009. After that I avoided using HSBC for overseas transactions. Click here to read more about it at my blog. The lowest conversion rate is still Maybank Visa or MasterCard.
