U have ur point. Both me n my bf plan to get married but we dun own a house in Singapore. Both of us have property in Malaysia.

I prefer life in singapore but housing is a big issue.

Who doesn't want to own their house?
I understand your concern, that is why you are here seeking for help. laugh.gif laugh.gif

how far can it take your kids.....put them overseas when they're in college/uni?then hopefully they can get a job n stay on there overseas when they graduate?..also not only talking about security risk only..its EVERYTHING in life...
*
Agreed.
That is the reason for marriage at early age...and also concern of wife conceiving and child birth (more complicated when they grow older)

"Plan" to get married at age 40. Unless there is "accident"
Like chinese saying (direct translation) " man age 40 =  flower, women age 40 = %&$% (btw, this is chinese saying not mine) LOL!

Anyhow kids can study in international school in M'sia.
We can stay in gated and guarded community which mitigates the security risk

Just wonder if you send your kids to the best "international school" but end up working in Singapore as a WP holder..

Will you call your kids as "RUBBISH" ????

Ok I'm a few pages late, but just wanted to weigh in on the 3G data coverage. I'm on starhub green (prepaid), buying 7-day 1.5gig plans at $7 per week.

What I notice is that in high density areas like malls, etc, the 3G speed is atrocious. Even though signal strength is 4- or 5- bars, i get slow speeds, bad latency, etc.

Is there any way to retrieve previous SPass application detail? My ex-company filled out everything for me and I've never seen the detail they submitted for me.

Nope. I probably will send them to Australia to study and stay in Aus. After a couple years even they come back SG will be on EP. Hence No Rubbish!

For the record, even fresh grads these days got S-pass even with salary range <SGD2500.

No law say u cannot marry someone who's 20 right? Look at Hugh Hefner, Donald Trumpt, Tiger woods (ok maybe tiger not that old), etc.

There's not much the govt and the racists & religious fanatics can do to my retired parents.

But to me and the next generation, it could mean a life of mediocrity (if you're lucky) or one of subjugation (if you're not).

Yes. That's the idea.
What's "everything in life" to you is only "a part of life" for someone else. Unless you define what's EVERYTHING.
Besides Malaysia is great place to live if you have money. More so than Singapore. I mean can u bribe the cops is singapore? no. Can you commit murder and pay yrself out of the impending court case in SG? no. Can you blatantly cheat the gov on taxes in SG? no.
So what's everthing?

I'm saying for a normal citizen like u n me....unless u prefer to head into that direction of doing evil....again its how do u define a great place. Each condition or environment has its pros n cons...eg.

Singapore
Pros: Good public transport system, don't need to own a car
Cons: No privacy to a certain extend taking public transport

Malaysia
Pros: Everyone drives/owns a car/bike. Therefore got privacy
Cons: You HAVE to own/drive a car...because public transport isn't good.

So it depends on individual, how would u weight the pros and cons.

With or without money, M'sia is a nicer place to retire to compared to Sg.
Well, without money, you cannot retire in Sg, but at least that meek amount of savings can be converted to RM and help out. laugh.gif laugh.gif

yes you can.
if u're on postpaid, u might need to activate your autoroam. Just call DG helpline to double verify. It's free.

IMO, it's cheaper to just get a temp SG prepaid SIM.
as @seantang mentioned, autoroaming charges are expensive.

Precisely. That's why i said what's "everthing" to you isn't "everything" to everyone else. U need to know yr what's important to you. And constantly build on that foundation. Otherwise yr out sooner than u came in. Which ties back to my initial comment that people with WP are rubbish. They should really learn to improve themselves. Instead of wasting time arguing with me
