QUOTE(Joshua_0718 @ Apr 12 2011, 02:42 PM) I would like to clarify on the Life Insurance tax relief. Anyone done it before? I have sent it to IRAS waiting for their reply. This Life insurance tax relief will not be taken into account when your CPF relief is max capped out....just like in the MY version of RM8k 'deductions' from the EPF relief. That's if u have CPF contributionsAny idea which are the correct one? - Claim 7% of capital sum insured / actual premium paid (whichever lesser) for life insurance if policy was bought in your name or your wife’s name. Premiums paid for insurance policy on your child’s life are not allowable. In the quick guide, it mentioned the above. - The amount of relief you may claim must not be more than 7% of the insured value of your life or your wife's life. When filling, in the guide information, it shows the above, not the amount premium paid or whichever lesser. |

QUOTE(spitzupipu @ Apr 12 2011, 04:35 PM) hi guys, need some advice here. I am currently working in Singapore and holding spass. My company needs 2 months notice period. I just got unhappy with our management and have been thinking of leaving. I would HIGHLY recommend that you should get your future's job E-Pass/S-Pass.....before you hand in your resignation. It's getting rejected before of the upcoming GE....maybe if u can...just hold on a little while longer....maybe max another 6months hopefully by then the GE would be over, then try to get the S-Pass/E-Pass appealed or apply it again.I have got few job offers since feb but none of them is able to apply spass/ep successfully for me. But lately i am so fed up with our management style and cant wait to leave. Do u guys think i should just tender my resignation and look for new job in this two months? My concern is that i dont get approved for my spass. but at the same time, not alot companies would wait for 2 months, somemore if i fail getting a pass, they r unwilling to take extra 3 weeks to appeal for me. It really puts me in a difficult situation, I want to leave but I cannot leave without securing my future... Somehow MOM might get the idea that you're not serious in your job when you're job hoping so soon....just my opinion Your other alternative would be to head back to MY to look for a job...... |

For the charges depends on the package n that you're taking. Do a search for these local service providers....its all on their website m1 starhub singtel |

With prepaid, i got 100sgd credit of calling singapore to singapore while having 28sgd for oversea call. Arent prepaid is better? well it would depends....for me i will need to travel overseas..therefore roaming, but i've got a corp package...dont forget your incoming calls on a prepaid SIM is chargeable even within Singapore. SGD28 for overseas calls...not much really...good enough for calling back to Malaysia |

QUOTE(Joshua_0718 @ May 5 2011, 08:57 AM) EP holders no longer need to apply the access card for electronic clearance. EP holders can go to the fast lane for eletronic clearance by using their passport. R u certain?...because my GF who still holds EP still needs to go thru the normal Q. When we ask the immigration officer, the officer replied that she'll need to go thru the normal Q...can't go for the electronic cleareance without that access cardThis post has been edited by tailtwist: May 5 2011, 09:08 AM |

QUOTE(Joshua_0718 @ May 5 2011, 09:02 AM) Yes! I am very sure. I am access card holder and wanted to go for card replacement. The officer said no need and I can use my passport for automated clearance. I tried it and it works! No joke. So then its basically like any PRs......just scan the passport then fingerprint i guess? But if you renew your passport, you need to update your passport first then. So then what/how when the passport is being renew...need to go to ICA to update the passport number? |

QUOTE(walanneh @ May 6 2011, 08:49 AM) Hi All, I was wondering whether there is anybody who've heard of cases like this and how was the matter resolved. IIAMN...in this case the landlord should be giving u back your 1 month deposit.....and a penalty fee of 1 month paid to u as the landlord hasn't given u 1 month notice of termination....I believe that clause should be in your rental contract.1.) Tenancy agreement was signed with the landlord and I was supposed to move in 30th April 2011. Deposit of 1 month rental was given. 2.) On 28th April, the landlord backed out and cited ill family members as an issue and how he wanted to use the room for his ill family member. 3.) Fortunately, I managed to find another place to stay on 30th April 2011 itself and my company allowed me to stay at the corporate hotel in the meantime. 4.) The 1st landlord till today has been fobbing me, his agent and my agent off with excuses that he is in tight financial constraints and that he requires more time to return my deposit and his agent's commision fees. 5.) Yesterday, my agent, the landlord's agent and myself went to the police station to lodge a police report. According to the police, I should to to the Small Claims Court to resolve this issue. 6.) After that, we went to the 1st landlord's place and knocked on his door for 1/2 hour as we saw him hiding inside his house with all his windows open but he refused to see us. I'll look into the Small Claims court but I'll like your opinions. Thanks a bunch. P.S Last week was my 1st week in Singapore and I already kena conned....... Looking on the bright side, at least I learn this lesson quickly. This post has been edited by tailtwist: May 6 2011, 10:22 AM |
