i m not sure if there is any early termination charge, i.e. penalty, you may check with the bank on this matter (pls share here after you check rclxms.gif ).

y hav to pay the penalty?
it is similar with mortgage loan. There is a lock in period, if u settle your loan in the lock in period, you may pay for early termination fee, guessing that same practice apply on credit card. but it is just guess, you better do check with bank.

I have canceled my Alliance Bank Credit Card last year in January at one of the Alliance bank branch.

I happened to attend a BNM talk in June and found that in BNM record, I am still the holder of the Alliance Bank credit card.

BNM officer advise me to call Alliance Bank to ratify the error and when I call the card center, they claimed that they never received instruction to cancel my card.

Please ensure that you call the card center to check whether your credit card has been canceled even you have submitted your cancellation at the respective branch,

This is for safeguard purposes because you never know who else will have your card information.

haha.. calm down.. Yea , SC card currently no benefit/point rewards/cash back at all.. Just keep it for emergency use only lor since they are giving high CL. Wait for anniversary month, terminate it if they dont want to OFFSET gst.
*
SC used to have high CL, in my case was RM10k. and yes, useful for emergency. but this year, they decrease my CL to only RM3400 vmad.gif , while UOB give me CL of RM 5k.

Since no more benefit/point rewards/cash back, will surely terminate it, before the GST.

Hey, today two cc agents came to my office, HLB and RHB.

To cut the story short, I signed those two for CC and the fotocopied my IC. They asked for my payslip but I was busy that time and told to email them later.

Now I'm home, I kinda dont want both cc.

Can they possibly submitted the forms if I havent given my payslip? Is there any possibility to proceed with cc process without the payslip and only my IC?

Its a must to get the confirmation letter in writing of card cancellation.

I've cancel 2 card more than 6 month already but still didn't get the cancellation letter. The one that stop is their monthly bill.

not really, me also have cancel a few credit card without receiving any letter...one way to confirm is to check on your CCRIS...if the card card number appear in it after 6 months, you can straight away report it to BNM...let BNM call the bank... biggrin.gif

I cancelled cards from 2 banks before, Citibank and UOB, both sent me letter to confirm that my card is cancelled. So, I guess its the norm rather than exception. smile.gif

I refer back to my previous year's statement. The GST was charged on 24Apr to my credit card. If I cancel now, still ok right?

Add: Statement cycle every 19th of the month.

You can cancel via SCB Online Banking page... ;-)

SCB has 0.5% rebate is you use the ChoicePoints redemption method.
SCB Business Visa has 0.5% + 0.5% (ChoicePoints Redemption)
