you mean that i just pay all the balance to rm0.00
then can cancel already?
*
the balance we say here is not the amount you see in the monthly statement, as you opt in 12 installment so the monthly statement just show the monthly payment, the balance we say here is the total of rest 11 monthly installment, i.e. outstanding balance. you must clear off the outstanding balance thereby you may request to cancel the card

Why hav to pay the penalty 1 ? And hw to cancel witout penalty?

i m not sure if there is any early termination charge, i.e. penalty, you may check with the bank on this matter (pls share here after you check rclxms.gif ).

y hav to pay the penalty?
it is similar with mortgage loan. There is a lock in period, if u settle your loan in the lock in period, you may pay for early termination fee, guessing that same practice apply on credit card. but it is just guess, you better do check with bank.

Called in twice to cancel SCB Preferred World MasterCard.... the stupid agent still doesn't want to call me back.

hav you confirmed with call reception that cancellation is not processing yet? I also did call in for cancellation 2 weeks ago and no receive any call from SCB for cancellation until today. I call in just now then call centre confirm to me that my card has been cancelled (it sounds like not the process I known) but I am fine as long as long my request has been entertained tongue.gif

Guys,
Since this is a thread for CC cnacellation, i Hope someone could shed some light over my concern over here. Can we get some rebate/discount if we pay of credit card in full amount from the bank? I am not really sure about this but i have heard that there are some banks which gives you some rebate if you pay a lump sum. Have anyone experience this? I am trying to settle my BSN card but they keep insisting that i need to pay them in full, let say the amount is RM12 433. I am sure they should be able to give me some discount right? If anyone have done this or have any better suggestion on how to approach to get the discount , plz let me knw. I appreciate your help.

Why would bank give you a discount on amount you owe them ???

1) what your question has to do with cc cancellation?
2) if you settle your loan earlier in full, you may save on some interest. but if you settle your cc amount in full, that is what you must. and if you fail to do so, you will be charged with late payment charges as well as interest.

IMO, the rumor you hear should be the case that person who declared bankruptcy and seek for AKPK assistance to be facilitator deal with bank for debt the person owe. Meanwhile, if you look at the T&C that has stated that it is your responsible to pay additional charge (interest incurred) on the outstanding balance you did not pay in full for every monthly statement.
