Hi All,

I wanted to cancel my mbb2 card MasterCard (not activated due to swapping to visa, got the Visa card already), can I just call their CS for cancellation or I need to surrender the card at the branch?

Thanks
*
Can just call.

Do they allow cancelling only one of the MBB2 card nowadays?

Hi,

my gym auto deduct my credit card each month for the monthly membership fees payment.

recently I terminate my gym membership….but after that I realised they still charging my cards… being made complain to gym membership but nothing being done.

Can I terminate my credit card in this cases and am I still liable for the monthly gym membership payment after termination?

You won't be able to terminate until you clear the statement balance.

yes possible. either gym is lazy to do (make you stay/pay), or their payment provider has limited function to manage auto-billing.

just clear all outstanding balance, terminate the card. bank may remind you to take care of any auto-billing tied to the card ... play dumb and act as if you already done so.

once card terminated, card cannot be charged. eventually, gym will noticed it.

question is, are you terminating the card due to gym membership "trap"? or just want to change card?

If I incurred annual fees + service tax but didn't use the CC at all, am I required to settle the annual fee or both?

if you intend to continue using the card, then yes

if you intend to cancel the card, usually banks will cancel the AF/service tax.

So good? I tot they will still charge you. I remember last time my CC incurred annual fee and I call to cancel the card, the CS ask me to settle the annual fee first before they can cancel lo.

sst/af is advanced charging (prepaid), meaning charge-first-use-later.

if dont intend to continue use, by right should not be charged and waived upon termination cuz you won't be using the cc moving forward.

of course, up to bank's discretion.

Hi guys I'm necro-ing this since it's the relevant thread

I was approached by an acquaintance to apply for a credit card to "help achieve his KPI"

Question: If I get approved for the card, dont use it at all, and then cancel within the same year, will that affect my credit score/rating?

The moment the card is approved, you will be assigned a credit limit. This limit is visible to all banks and form part of your credit information.

Helping an acquitance is one thing but when it comes to personal financial matters then you should draw the line as it will impact you. I am sure your acquitance did not advice you what are ALL the probable impact that may hit you. The fact you turn to this forum, probably you are in doubt of your decision.

Have a thought and decide your next move.
