I also asked MBB CS but this officer said generic AMEX cc cannot be converted to this Maybankard 2 AMEX (with MBB logo). The officer also further explains that due to different point system, TP vs MR

how about if we just convert existing mastercard into this and get maybankard 2 for Master and new AMEX?

means we cant convert from existing from amex cc to this maybank 2?

even the branch officer cant give me any explanation, which I wonder what MBB officer/executive function at branch? they only know to ask us to call customer service, where customer service ask us to go to branch. confusing and not customer friendly, haha......

hi guys, im new in this thread.. recently i just applied a credit card from public bank. i plan to use it for purchasing a ps3.. i was thinking about a 0% easy payment.. is it possible? btw anyone here care to elaborate more about this 0% easy payment scheme?

Not possible also. The CS told me that my existing Visa Petronas cannot be converted to this Maybankard 2 Visa even though I submit a new application for the AMEX.

On top of that, Mastercard will not be available until April 2011. They're promoting Visa only at the moment.

ocbc tit requires min 36k per annum
else get the Maybankard 2 Gold Cards - 30k pa
if lower than 30k pa, look for classic category at the 1st post

how do they calculate the one time upfront interest?
it seems that a few bank with installment plan has this interest,
i dont know how it works

upfront = pay first

lets say you want to do RM6K installment plan for 12 months with 1.5% upfront so

Upfront payment = 1.5% x RM6000 = RM90

Installments 12 monhts = RM6000/12mth = RM500/mth

so your coming statement, you will need to pay Upfront fee + 1st month installment = RM90 + RM500 = RM590.

Second month no more interest as you have paid in the first month, therefore payment due is RM500 only.

Since only VISA is offered for Maybankard 2 now, any idea if i can get only the Maybankard 2 AMEX only for the time being and request them to send the MasterCard to me when it becomes available in April ? I do not want anymore VISA because i already have two VISA in my wallet now. I do have one MasterCard but i intend to cancel this card by next year which is why i want the Maybankard 2 MasterCard and not the VISA.

You could try. But doubt they would do that.

afterward, can i BT the amount to CC B,
to use the installment plan there?

i received a sms from Ambank saying that 10x AmBonus point on retail spending from now till 28/02/11 by sms to 36663 to register the cc for participate.
my question is there any others Ambank cc holder also receive this sms?
i'm wondering is this offer only for selected card holder as they are going to charge me the gst on the 30/01/11 as stated in the statement.

well, worst come to worst, get the visa now and then get the MC in April, cost you RM25 for GST only. Or maybe can use conversion form and convert from Visa to MC later (I learned something today MBB got such thing as conversion form). Anyway, once you get the answer do let us know.

All this rebates are making me crazy / dizzy .


I want a card with UNLIMITED 5% cash rebate EVERY DAY of the week on ALL transactions. Saves me a lot of thinking at the cashier. What day is it? Which card have I max out? etc etc.

Wish a bank would come up with a card like that to counter all these card wars.
