I have Maybank Visa, Master & Amex. At first, I called to ask for GST waiver but received a no. So I redeemed all 3 GST with my points. Later on I thought no harm to write an email to request again, and this time I was given a GST points rebate for 1 card, termed "Retention Bonus" in my statement.

This isn't a dilemma. This is your own fault for not canceling a card that you have never used. Besides, the credit card tax came into effect January last year. You should have already had the same problem last January.

that robin flew into this section about a month back, initially thought he was smart where I assume he made a handsome profit from a property, but after his first post, when I read his subsequent posts/questions I would be like huh? Is this guy for real?

Let the guy decide. When it comes to money matters, it is an individual decision. So please don't be immature and suggest when it involves money.
Better still edit your post.

Next time please avoid telling him what to do because it is his credit card/money, his rights - not yours. What can happen if the guy is not happy with the decision he can BLAME you for suggesting it to him in the first place.

after implementation of GST, they will only charge on new application. For existing card member, they will only charge at the end of the month indicated at ur cc (Expired MM/YY).

i was at menara maybank just now, the office confirmed with me that the amex do have access to premium lounge in KLIA/LCCT, as was informed during their briefing

QUOTE(erry- @ Jan 18 2011, 11:09 PM)
yeah. how to access plaza premium lounge then? or this card cannot access eh? sweat.gif

no diff of acceptance. as long as got amex logo.

the diff is, charge card must pay full balance while credit card can pay minimum balance (actually all credit card should pay full balance too like charge card).
another diff is charge card have no pre-set spending limit, while credit card got credit limit.

nops. just plat get plat benefits such as complimentary golf at selected golf courses and travel insurance coverage.

btw, mbb webmaster doing copy paste work.
at plat page at top shows "Minimum annual income:RM60,000" but at bottom shows "Malaysians and expatriates with a minimum annual income of RM30,000" (must be copied from gold page. haha)

Wow, this Maybankard 2 is super HOT! I was away for 2 days but more than 10 pages have already been created because of this card.

And of course, I won't miss the boat. Anyway, the second card, namely MBB VISA/MC is useless. While the first card, MBB Amex is very sexy to me. I'll dump my Amex Gold cc soon after I obtain the 15% cash back in full and redeem all the points.
