QUOTE(winner @ Jan 15 2011, 11:09 PM) Besides Amex Gold CC, other popular CCs that DO NOT provide complimentary travel insurance include OCBC Titanium MC, SCB JustOne Titanium MC and SCB Preferred World MC. On the other hand, SCB Classic/Gold/Plat/Business Plat cards do offer complimentary travel insurance & Purchase Protection Plan (aka theft/loss protection, for 30 days). |

Can we consider Citibank Clear Card as one of the best classic card because of its “BUY 1 FREE 1 at GSC on Fridays”?

QUOTE(Kenshin1314 @ Jan 17 2011, 01:16 AM) I would like to ask about how can i obtain or register a credit card as a student that has no income but will be working starting from next month. You must first get at least 2 or 3 months payslip then only can try to apply cc.I'm planning on getting a digi iphone plan based on installment and require a credit card to obtain this plan. Will be using the i phone for working purposes and would be a vital matter to me if i was able to obtain it... Thanks =) You may ask for a supplementary card from your parents/siblings if any one of them is a principal cardholder. This post has been edited by chemistry: Jan 17 2011, 03:17 AM |

citi-giant card earns 8% cashback on weekends. Although not published officially, but it has been like that for many months.
Furthermore, the cashback is uncapped. |

QUOTE(winner @ Jan 17 2011, 04:33 PM) Added on January 17, 2011, 4:35 pm But then, it is only applicable to Giant, not all hypermarkets and supermarkets. Therefore, it doesn't really fit the "best card for groceries" category. |

QUOTE(gerrardling @ Jan 17 2011, 05:13 PM) citibank giant 8% rebate is only applicable if u have outstanding balance, but u will be charged by bank interest. i see. Thanks for your input. However, 5% uncapped rebate at Giant is still quite good. This is especially useful for big families which spend a lot of groceries LOL. Added on January 17, 2011, 5:44 pm QUOTE(ben83 @ Jan 17 2011, 05:09 PM) Previously CIMB cc holders with over RM 75k credit limit entitled as Preferred customer, I wondered if it is still applicable now? My friend was offered Preferred Banking and a WMC by just placing RM50K cash deposit. That's all. The CS said that was a special offer wor....For MBB WMC, card holders entitled for priority service at any branch just by showing the cc itself. QUOTE(ronnie @ Jan 17 2011, 11:31 PM) Don't you know Citibank's Cash-back is always need to accumulate before credit back to your account ? I have to agree with you. I was a "victim" before. This concept is similar to collecting points, only this time you collect rebates... It's not creditted monthly like OCBC or Direct Access. Every block of RM20 will need cumulative spending of RM400 (assume 5% cashback). I don't like this. Added on January 18, 2011, 12:10 am QUOTE(alexwsk @ Jan 17 2011, 09:40 PM) What time do you think is the first 1000th sms? Are there really so many RM4k SCB spenders ? QUOTE(ronnie @ Jan 18 2011, 12:50 AM) The T&C didn't say cannot send multiple SMS. this is what I doubt. Are SCB expecting 100,000 cardmembers with RM4k spends ? If one sms is worth RM4k, 200000 sms will imply a RM800 million ! Unbelievable! Update: I just rang SCB CS. He said "One can send multiple sms as many as he can".
