after reading a while, i think SCB can give me a higher CL, but need ur guys to advice roughly what CL that would give to me.

currently i'm holding citibank shell classic CC, CL is 3x my salary, my annual income is abt ~35k.

just wonder which CC that has the rebate for GST and can give me higher CL than my current one.

CIMB can give a high CL but no free points or cash back to offset the service tax. You may try applying for SCB Gold cc, and get RM88 cash back. However, there is no guarantee to receive a higher CL as your current CL is already 3x your monthly salary.

QUOTE(Centurion Lee @ Dec 12 2010, 08:09 AM)
I was at The Curve last October where I met this HSBC Senior Card Sales Executive. After listening to his explanation on the promotion of the HSBC Visa Platinum, such as cash bonus of RM50 on 1st swipe to cover the GST and 10% cash back on the 1st RM650 spend, I also signed up for the application. When I received my new card on the same month itself, I did the necessary spending wait for the GST and other rebates to be credited back on the following month statement. Still no refund on first month. Tilll this month, there's no refund being given. So I called up the Customer Service and they are unaware about the promotions. I cancelled the card on the spot. My advice to all who wants to apply credit cards, please be careful when you meet this kind on unscrupulous promoters.

always check with the bank website!

bank never give discount for full settlement. if yes then i would be rich now. haha tongue.gif

regarding paying the debt, u got 2 options - pay all ur credit card debt, or sign up new card from other bank that offer 0% for balance transfer. but dont use the new card. just pay the exact monthly payment till finish. so u get extra cash to spend/save biggrin.gif

That is really bad advice from your friend. You are paying high interest every day while the cash is earning you next to nothing, a lose-lose situation. Always pay off CC debts when you have the cash.

But hey, the bank loves you... biggrin.gif

That rebate is all you get. No points for CIMB Petronas cards.
AFAIK, SCB Business Plat and Alliance Plat give reward point and cashback together.

Most point-based cards let you redeem RM50 cash voucher using 10,000 pts. That is actually equivalent to 0.5% cashback. Dont you agree?

Most banks have increased points requirement for RM50 cash voucher to around 11,000-12,500 points. Only CIMB still maintains low points requirement. That's why I would rather redeem cash back (RM25 for 5,000 points) than the stupid vouchers for my SCB cc.

Citibank normal Platinum credit card gives 5x point at Jusco which is equivalent to about 2.40% cash back if you redeem for a RM100 voucher with 21,000 points.

bcoz bank charge them for each transaction (example 2%) so they dont want to lose much. dats y also got shop that charge additional certain amount (1.8%, 2%, 3%) from total amount bcoz want to cover that charges. big company such as kfc / jusco might have a deal of that charge (maybe only 0.5%) coz their volume (total) sales per months. so if the shop u went stated min rm30 to swipe, then go add things to reach that min amount! tongue.gif

burger king do accept CC. However once at Midvalley, their terminal was down but they still gave me 10% discount with CIMB WMC.

Today was at 1U GSC, use my DA VI to get 2 free tickets as my wife has a supp from me too. If I were to go there 3 times a year then it will breakeven the GST cost.

1U is the best place for shopping as besides getting rewards point or cash back with CC, we get free gifts from 1U shopping centre and/or MBB centre and OneCard points that can be used as payment. Also at 1U MBB card members can redeem 210 treatPOINTS for RM1 cash equivalent to pay merchants with RCUBE Programme.
