Hi ,

Wan to ask wthether have guys try out to pay the TNB and Syabas bill in advance ?

Example. the current bill is Rm 80 .00 and wan to pay RM 500 . Will the RM 420 treated as the deposit or this money will be used to deduct the subsequent bill

The reason i ask is to get the cash rebate 3 % from the OCBC Internet Banking which is going to end at 31 Dec 2010

I did that.
Now my tunggakan is Negative (LOL).
After making a prepayment of nearly 5 months electricity bill amount, I'll BT to CIMB.

P/S: OCBC also offers extra 2% rebate for selected cardmembers who pay UTILITIES BILLS using OCBC Online. This translates to a total of 10% cashback for Titanium cardmembers.

Just called up SCB and they mentioned that we can upgrade from normal Visa Platinum to Business Visa Platinum by faxing in a letter and no RM50 GST will be charged.

Dunno how true it the above statement made by the SCB CS Exec.
*
dont trust them! brows.gif

its better to have black&white (example they mail/fax u the offer regarding free upgrade to another card with no gst).
so if they still charged u the gst u can fight back with that documents, rather than fight with "previously i called and the cs told me no gst" (no proof, unless u record the conversation) sweat.gif

Second that.
Everything must have proof. Voice recording isn't strong evidence because Lingam had taught us all a great lesson.

Btw, I'd like to share my experience of card upgrade. When I was still holding DA Gold, I inquired DA CS whether can upgrade to Plat without incurring Gst charge and migrate all the reward points to new card. I got an affirmative reply in B&W. And the things went on in order as advised by CS.

I realized that PBB & Ambank used to launch cashback promo which is subject to a maximum aggregated amount. Cardmembers will never know if they are entitled to bonus or not, and keep using the card. Sometimes the promo is only applicable to the first XXXX eligible cardmembers, which the ranking is unknown.

Thanks for the info smile.gif

it depends on where u spend, coz both got their advantages.

1. annual fee: both free for 1st year, 2nd year free with min 1swipe/month.

2. new application offer (consider this to waived gst) - spend certain amount within 1st 2 months:

ambg: free rm50 if spend rm350 (gold) / rm500 (platinum)
pbe: free rm50 if spend rm80 (gold) / free rm60 if spend rm80 (platinum)

3. extra new application offer: pbe apply online, get 8% cashback on 1st month bill (max rm80) / ambg - nill.

4. cashback promo (current):

ambg:
got rm12 annual fee.
sms to participate.
weekend only till 31/12/2010.
20% at all petrol station, block of rm50.
20% at selected hypermarket, block of rm100.
max rm80 per statement.
more info - http://www.ambg.com.my/ambank_webmedia/fil...K_GROCERIES.pdf

pbe:
no annual fee.
sms to participate.
till 28/2/2011.
15% weekdays, min rm50.
10% weekend, min rm50.
max rm100 per statement, rounded to nearest ringgit (cents wont count, example rm10.49 rebate will get rm10 only).
more info - http://www.pbebank.com/en/en_content/images/tc_db10.pdf

my conclusion: for now better go for pbe.
pbe got more cashback, extra 2 months than ambg, max cashback can get is rm300.
ambg only have 2 saturday & 1 sunday to go, max cashback can get is rm80 only.

or, just go apply both card! biggrin.gif

if the debit card got visa/mastercard logo, then yes.
but must have enough balance inside it ok? laugh.gif

btw, some petrol station will 'hold' certain amount for certain time.
example if using maybankard visa debit at caltex, maybank will hold rm200 for max 48hours.
u got rm300 inside, u pump rm60, then ur balance will be rm40.
so dont go swipe something cost rm50 after that! sweat.gif
after 2 days, ur rm200 will be credited back.

I got HSBC Bank classic credit card since 2004. I realise that HSBC CC is not attractive, spent RM1.00 get 1 point. Cash conversion from point also not attractive, about 12000 points get RM 50.00. Plan to terminate this CC. How is the current Classic card reward, eg Hong Leong Bank Classic Credit card. Thank

if the debit card got visa/mastercard logo, then yes.
However, certain online card processing companies can't process it. For instance, RHB Worldpay. For what reason i do not know.

Hong Leong Bank Classic credit card ? The points required to redeem a shopping voucher is just as high as HSBC's. I'd recommend you to go for either CIMB MasterCard, any Maybank credit card or Alliance Younique MasterCard. And if you earn no less than RM36k/pa, you might want to go for OCBC Titanium MasterCard.

The petrol station only hold your money if you go swipe the card yourself. It won't happen if you go to the counter to pay with card.

BTW , anyone using Alliance Credit cards ??

What's the big differences between the classic and the You:nique Picture Cards besides you can change the picture ?

previously at Petronas Saujana Kajang (near McD), i want to use my CREDIT card at pump but got message there "Please see the cashier.." at the screen. When I go inside and give the card to the cashier, she ask me to use at the pump! rclxub.gif
i told her cannot use at the pump, then she said cash only inside sweat.gif

Same case with our friends here:

Went to Mobil and wanted to buy 20w-50 engine oil.
Told by cashier that all items in the mart are cash term only.
Took out a RM50 note and a RM5 note to pay for it. mad.gif
Darn, I missed a 5% rebate.

BTW, Alliance You:nique, u can choose either want rates/rebates/rewards benefits.

Cash term is only applicable to items in the mart.
Only FUEL purchase allows CC payment, either at the pump or at counter.
