Benefit wise, KNM is not so good. My friend just joined a few months ago and now he's looking for a new job.

- Probably one of the few O&G companies which still uses clocking-in system.
- No health insurance. Medical treatment claim as per receipt and subjected to approval.
- Chinamen culture.

Requirements:

    * Degree in Mechanical/ Chemical Engineering or equivalent. biggrin.gif
    * At least 3-5 years experience in the same capacity. sad.gif
    * Mature and Responsible. smile.gif
    * Fresh graduate with excellent academic results will be considered. cry.gif
*
Avoid companies that state these sort of requirements.

They cant make up their mind whether they want experienced personnel with 3-5 years or they want fresh grads. Or they want to pay experienced personnel with fresh grads salary.

Just stay away. smile.gif

I just get hired by Aker Solutions. Anyone of you o your frz working in this company. I am a fresh graduate civil engineering student. Is it a good choice for civil engineer to join oil n gas company. I am dilemma with following questions. Plz give ur precious opinion to tackle my doubt. Thank you.

i) Is Aker Solution a good company for fresh graduate since they are in learning process? Do they provide good environment for them?
ii) How does civil engineer develop their career in this field? I have no frz o senior working under this field.
iii) Does civil engineer get PE in this field?

I don't know for certain about this particular case, but if you see most big companies have a clear requirement listed. There are quite significant gaps between 3-5 years experience people and fresh grads.

Hi guys and all sifu, I had been follow this thread for very long already and this is my first post.

I have a Mechanical Engineering background, even before I graduate, I been applying for field service position with mainly big blue, big red, SLB, WTF and so on....but the result is not satisfying. Been working in a steel mill for 1 year plus, now working as a project engineer in a MNC- pressure vessel company (consider an oil and gas industry as our product end user are all shell, Exxon,Chevron,petronas...etc), may I know do I still have the chance to join in as field engineer for SLB, WTF, HLB,BKH?

I still remember that when 2 years back when I call SLB , they said we only take UM student, and before HLB implement their all online application system, my applications were 'no news' as well.......At least now I get a chance as a project engineer in an o&g related field.

All sifu , please advise and show me some path....

Petra located in shah alam,
i don't think design engineer can become field engineer,
design engineer is working with mechanical software, fabrication code, construction drawing (autocad), paper work, or fabrication workshop...
totally not related to field.

i guess field engineer is under upstream, but the design engineer for pressure vessel is downstream...

any comment about INSEP PCN-NDT or ASNT-NDT? is it worth to spend 7months there?
is it true that those who finished INSEP NDT will get the level II NDT inspection license?
what about the chance to get hired after the program?
