I totally agree. Went for this so called "best bak kut teh" in Sg. Didn't like it at all. Dunno what's the deal with the peppery soup??!!!. Nasi lemak is all fried chicken. No rendang.... hokkien mee is watery not like kl thick and solid. In summary hawker food though cheap is not tasty at all.... Now i miss kl food so much

now u have a good xcuse to go bk more frequest and u will enjoy the kl foood even more.

My passport is not expired yet so i haven't tried that myself but what i heard from a friend is that the fee is cheaper even after conversion. And they only handle standard renewal but not complicated cases like passport lost/damaged etc.

Just found this blog and i find it quite detailed.

Oh ya, I haven not tendered my resignation as I just got my offer letter last Friday evening.
I would like to know, if I need to wait until my EP application is successful & medical checked before tender?

Heya, do you guys have experience with any of these 3 hotels before? Need some feedbacks on hotel condition, conveniency and location as my parents (60 y.o.) are visiting next month and prefer to stay in Chinatown and short walking distance (5-10 mins) to MRT/hawker centres.

1. Hotel Re! - $378 for 3 nights.
2. Hotel 81 Osaka - $294 for 3 nights. (If not mistaken this is located in a neighbourhood and don't have much to see/shop/walk nearby?)
3. Hotel 81 Chinatown - $303 for 3 nights. (Wotif says usual price $300/night! Sure anot?)

Thanks.

i remember saw someone talking about riding motor into Sg, our motor lesen in MY will only last us the 1st year , after that we will nid to apply the Sg motor lesen ? izit true ?

btw, anyone going back to Sg on 7th feb , from KL ? mind if i wanna carpool ?

to clarify your though, this was asked by me previously. So the conclusion is :

1. if u ride a Malaysian car/bike in SG, you can use ur Malaysia license for it. doesn't really matter how long u were holding the work pass.
2. you can't drive any Singapore registered vehicle without having a Singapore license in Singapore.
3. Singaporean and PR cannot drive any foreign registered car in Singapore soil.
4. your foreign car must leave Singapore at least 6 hours daily (this 1 i think they don't enforce it strictly coz i got a few friends that drive their car into Singapore and stay inside Singapore more than a week, and no action taken against them as long as your length of stay is not too long like few months).

from my experience, if u are coming in by car or bike, they don't really check your stuff 1 la. even u bring 10 carton of cigarettes, they wont know unless u very "yong shui" that they check u 1 by 1. But by bus, they will scan all ur bags and ur body. so if u are planning to bring in "illegal stuff", come in by car/bike, sure no prob tongue.gif

Maybe it's a subtle hint that she wants to get married so that the HDB dream is achieved.

I don't think any Pork related products (cooked or raw meat) is able to bring in to Singapore since the Nipah Incident. Unless you want to try your luck....

Hi all, I'll be joining you guys soon starting mid of March. I would need some pointer on following questions so I could search for more information online:

1. I'll work at Alexandra Road, need advice on best possible location to stay with budget around $500-550 monthly and shortest possible travel via MRT/Bus
2. What is the best cash rebate debit card or credit card (if my annual salary is less than $40k)?
3. I don't call/sms much, but broadband is a must for me. Should I go for postpaid or prepaid? Then between combined voice+data plan or separate voice and data plan, which is worthier for my case?

Thanks.

1. You can look at the following area nearby. Travel depends on where you stay. You can always use gothere.sg to check for most efficient route.
- Queenstown, Redhill, Telok Blangah

I am not sure bout the chances of one getting industrial training in Singapore but what i heard is very low because u need to have a working permit to work here. Unless u study in singapore and the student pass then u can get industrial training here.
