That's right.
People tends to be suspicious especially while you are taking half-day leave on odd-days such as Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
To be honest, 90% ppl take half day on these days for interview lah. Unless u take whole day, then I wont suspicious.

maybe u say u nid to repair ur house door, repair shower heater, repair aircond, repair the curtain raillings.  I think in SIngapore its a reasonable excuse as those "freelance contractor" are always busy doin their full time/bigger jobs during weekends and only free for ur small jobs during weekdays. And they are cheap, u say.
Ur bos may still smeel somthing fishy, but at leats some excuse lar.

I believe that somewhere in singapore, there is a construction project being handled by mcconell dowell and not exclusively in jurong island. I think it was for the SMRT expansion project but im not 100% sure since i saw their banner at a construction site.

McDow is the contractor for C916 Downtown Line 2 (along Upper Bukit Timah Road~@Goh&Goh Building) smile.gif

Sounds like this company is trying to squeeze you dry. I'm sure there are other better options around...keep looking!

FYI, I started at 2.5k fresh grad and was increased to 2.75k after confirmation. I only have a bachelor eng degree.

Don't take my after confirmation salary as an absolute figure. My boss was happy with my performance so he gave me a 10% increment. Yours may vary.
*
agree. quite standard rclxms.gif

just that chinaman company bosses nowadays r trying to squeeze my juniors dry by giving them S$2.2K / S$2.3K as a starting pay... mad.gif they just took up the jobs anyway. it's much better than in msian market. sweat.gif

mm i dont consider 2.3k is much better than msian market >.< considering how expensive the rent in sg ...
*
just the rental itself is expensive. if we were to compare dollar to ringgit, the rest is cheap. can save more money than peers in msia. i believe that if one is prudent in his/her spending style, his/her net income (after deducting all expenses) > his/her friends gross salary in msia smile.gif
