Even the bangla, indian, burmese and china labourers cant survive on 60 dollars a month on food expenses alone. And that after the fact that they cook for themselves which is generally cheaper then buying out.

Those guys eat more than 1 meal a day. A packet of curry water rice a day is more than enough to survive. As long as you don't die, you survived.

To Malaysian EP holder, do you bring along your passport and Malaysian IC with you wherever you go?
Is it enough to bring only EP card?

Thanks all for reply. Reason I'm asking is I'm new here and I think the only time I'll need to use passport or Malaysia IC is when applying for banking account or phone line, etc. Rest of other time I think EP = IC in Singapore so I only bring with me my EP. Correct me if I'm wrong.

EP is not IC in Singapore, it's just a work pass, a permit to work.

I see. But is it the only documents we can use to identify ourselves in SG aside from passport?
For passport I dont think will bring it with me all along due to the huge size and I don't wanna damage or bend if while keep in pocket...

As for Malaysian IC, I'm not sure if we can use this document to identify ourselves in SG?

Every morning bread with peanut butter...make sure is smooth typenot chunky so u can spread a super thin layer on da bread...
Bread buy big size can last u for 3 - 4 days
Lunch go cafeteria...Bodek those Malay girl a bit they give u extra big packet for same price(Malay rice full of lemak give u extra energy)
Dinner eat 2 dollar chicken rice...I think u can still find chicken rice this price at most place...not to forget the free msg cabbage soup...
And for ur room...try sharing with lots of ppl...the more u share the lower the rental
After 3 years here...I still find it amazing how I can survive last time...
Additional tip for fast food lover
Just buy 3 double cheeseburger or mcchicken...Each at 2 dollar
More filling then going for mcvalue tongue.gif

I always say the moral of the story is do NOT get caught. U can do what ever you want rob, rape, kill, etc as long as you do NOT get caught and if you could live with yourself after doing those things then who cares. If IF u do get caught, then YR SCREWED!

Haha, very true. Its quite common for alot of SME's in singapore to follow the mantra of "You can do whatever you want, just dont get caught or be prepared to pay a large enough bribe".

I know personally the son of the boss of a certain company who has escaped reservist duty by bribing a doctor to make up a report that he is mentally unfit to do his reservist. All he has to do is cough up 6k which is chump change for him.

oh ya, when u wanna recontract phone line or subscribe to anything, they will ask for ur passport also. EP alone is not good enough. like if u go RWS or MBS, even with the EP u can enter casino, but if u wanna apply for their member card, you still need to show the your passport.

while I am glad many people want to expand there horizon by comming to sg to work I highly recommend those freshies to spend at least 2-3 years working in m'sia first before comming to sg to stand a better chance of being employed. The reason I said that is because the competition here especially for entry level job is very intense and furthermore preference will always be given to Singaporean and pr. And from what I know singaporeans employers do not have high regard for Malaysian unis. They even do not have high regard for proffesional qualification like acca or CPA unless it is accompanied by a degree. They always prefer the local unis coz that's where all the brainiacs are
*
Thank you for your information, may I know have you been working in this industry before? If yes, can you give me some guidance on how to get into that work place? For me, I am not local uni graduate, but overseas-qualification graduate. will the employer of singapore take into consider me as the part of the recruitment process, compare to local graduate recruitment?
