dun really know what is BIKES service  tongue.gif  mind to explain more ?

but i think my case is very obvious to the officer, cause L license holder will require to put one big L sign at the front of our bike .... thats what i know , anyone to clarify ??  hmm.gif

BIKES = Biometric Identification for Bikers.

means we need to go to the ICA office, show them our Autopass, workpermit, driving license and passport. then they will help us enter our details in their system. once they done that, we can just scan our passport on the designated BIKES lane (which is normally reserve for PR and SC). so it will be faster if we go through that lane compare to normal lane.

just quickly go and get a P license la. what's so hard? you can get it within 1 month.

Just get a hayabusa or the honda cbr1000rr. One of my colleagues has the honda cbr. Another has a triumph thunderbird.

Btw, both of them are malaysians and they pay through the roof on road tax alone. On the plus side, all mat rempits cant even touch them on the highway or are to chicken to do due to rz1 instability at high speeds and they dont have engine braking.

hahaha, me too thinking the same thing as you . within 1 month can get the license ~ but it is whole different story here ~

go to theory and practical class on weekend -> wait one week (at least...) to get the L license -> practice -> JPJ test, we must wait at least one month after you get ur L license = basically we will need at least 1 month and 2 weeks .... my plan all set back due to this thing

So, even i didnt do this BIKES thing i can still go into SG ?

no la, i ride Modenas new elegan only. scooter. automatic ma, no nid change gear so ma fan. I have been riding bike for almost 6 years d. 1 thing that i would like to highlight is if u are working in office wearing covered shoes, don't get bikes that use U shape gear (that's what they call in chinese). means gear 1 press down, gear 2 to 6 pull up type. it will damage ur shoe very fast. another thing good about scooter is got ample storage space and when rain, the water won't splash to ur shoe since the whole foot rest area is completely covered tongue.gif.

yup, you can still go in SG without do the BIKES thing. 1 thing is in the morning, there are 4 gates (i mentioned this before). 2 gates are designated BIKES gate and 2 gates are normal gates. normally, if we queue at BIKES gate, no matter how many people there are, we can still manage to get through the immigration in 20 mins. and all the BIKES gate lead to BKE. there is 1 normal gate that will lead u to the admiralty road. if u are so unlucky that the ICA people asked u to go there, prepare to queue at least 30 mins (minimum). and that road will lead u to admiralty, u need to ride all the way back to woodlands to go back into highway. there was once that i was being asked to go that section, i queued for 1 hour 15 mins for that immigration.

Yeah, finally got an offer from NUS! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif ideally date to start working is 3 May 2011. Now filling up the Employment Pass form and dependent form, and need to return them to NUS for application with MOM. I was wondering some sectors in the forms are needed to be filled by employer, or not. Another thing is NUS didnt say they will apply EP or S-pass for me, so which application should i tick? icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

Your employer will fill in the sections like company profile, turnover etc. Put EP.

I think the best so far would be First Coach. It's really a value for money in terms of the stops location, bus quality, and driver's quality. This is definitely my first choice of travel.

if include trip in Singapore, its around 75KM a day. 2 days pump 1 tank RM11. if no traffic jam (during CNY), can reach office in 30 mins. not really that far.
*
Lester, you have got a car, right? Can drive in 10 days free a year. :-).

Wow, you use it so fast eh. I have been driving for the last three days and got addicted to it. Just that I counted the cost of driving in after the 10 days and gosh, it will be better if I rent a room in SG.

hahaha, u cannot drive in daily, definitely the cost will kill u. take a motorbike. then u will enjoy. get to use car in the weekend, can go out late late no nid to worry MRT will close. no nid to squeeze MRT. and u can get a larger house with that money u pay for rental. so u sacrifice some of ur time, you get back to enjoy a better life when u reach home instead of stay in ur own room. For me, i choose comfortable living > travel time. staying in the room whole day really dam boring. and the air quality in JB (further away area) is much better than Singapore. Its so cold nowadays that i don't even need air-cond. and the type of cold is different from air-cond. its humid and cold so you won't feel very dry when u wake up.
