try stanchart super savers.... no min amount, no minimum startup, better interest rates, comes with cheques... but only thing is lack of discounts at stores

Doesn't your company provide you with housing options or housing allowances?

Haha... nope. I'm working in professional firm, I think the norm is that they don't. cry.gif

So a professional firm doesnt provide you with any housing options but a marine engineering firm can provide a condo for its employees?

Some professional firm you got there.

Haha, perhaps they do, but not for a small fry for me I guess. Your position at the marine engineering firm must be quite managerial or senior then? If not so, it must be quite a good company to extend such benefits to all its staff.

ever wonder how come a lot of singapore topics opened in /k/opitiam lately. it's a pity that singapore receives negative remarks due to historical reason, racial and jealousy.

The company doesnt extend a condo to everybody, only management, project leaders and some senior guys. Project managers get a condo all to themselves, i forgo the condo for the monetary equivalent since im staying with my sibling. At least the supervisor and fire watchmen guys get housing allowance of 300-500.

If you shift through the remarks, there are some valid arguments. Like singaporeans are great complainers and are for the most part, very stingy people. Plus they like to emulate LKY.

Excellent. It shows that Singapore has arrived on the map. If Singapore was another 3rd world backwater like Malaysia, then nobody in kopitiam would be bothered with it.

So why are you staying and working in Singapore if you are so peeved off with Singaporeans?

Malaysia could do with a LKY at its helm.

I work here for the money and experience since i get to interact with alot more people from different nationalities compared to malaysia, just like everybody else here. I dont really concern myself with the stingy or pompous singaporean. That said there are a few singaporeans who arent in the typical singaporean mindset but those are few and far between sadly.

Many countries have arrived on the "map" but singapore has a special place in malaysia since nobody like's the arrogant prick who complains at the first sign of trouble. For further clarification, please visit the stomp website for singapore 101.

Anybody here stock up on iodine salt to prevent the suppose radiated acid rain which is suppose to fall over here? Just got this stupid sms hoax.

plan to travel daily to Sg, and already found a room in Johor.

However , the problem i facing now is that I just started to go for the driving lesson. So, even until the day i need to drive motor into Sg, i only have the L license.

So, it is possible to go into Sg with motor L license?

On the contrary, it seems that you are very bothered with "stingy and pompous" Singaporeans judging from your postings in this thread.

There are other places where one gets to work and interact with folks of various nationalities hence it would better for you if you moved to those places.

I think you'll have better luck finding futsal players or field hockey since i noticed alot of school going children play those games.
