The best way to test port 80 is to download from microsoft. TM doesn't blocked it confirm.
Microsoft have some technology that almost like clouds where there's several server around the world hosting same file.

if tm really capped our speed on 50kb/s, then what is the reasons for them to ask the ppl to apply their 1mbps/2mbps/4mbps package since the 512kbps is enough and able to download with 50kb/s?

many reason and I don think everyone is capped with 50KB/s cause my friend in sunway always get 150KB/s with his line.
I have one house at serembang always get 180KB/s from USA ( my vps )
I have friends in Melaka Always get 120Kb/s from USA ( my server ) and some other fileshare website.

Thing is we can't predict it.
what i heard is there's possibility that at that time the "system" forgot the name where they used to control the speed. maxed out cause lot of users and that's why the capping comes in.
Meh once again I don know what's the problem there's lots of possibility.

Just trying to clearify some doubt here and there.

finally got uncapped for tonight.

this is not an attack on you but i think your explanation creates more confusion than to clarify. i think all of us here are pretty clear about the limitations of TM's network and how unpredictable it is, having suffered through enough sh_it with the service over the years. but it's obvious here that bandwidth for some inexplicable reasons is being capped. i'm still on the same IP range as my previous post an hour ago, and look at my speedtest now. speed is suddenly restored to (almost) full capacity. if this is not evidence of capping then i don't know what is.

i get that TM is trying to maintain their QOS, but this is a blatant ripoff of the consumers, who expect the speed to at least approach the advertised speed. if my usual speed is 150kbps and now it's 100kbps i can get behind the QOS explanation, but below 50kbps?! might as well subscribe to the cheaper package innit?

since you have connection with some TM people, please please please tell them about this and ask them to explain. because the only logical explanation that we non-TM folks have is that our bandwidth is being capped.

I've friend. he only know how they work out and all those capping issue statistic. as for me only their univeristy student. He can try to get some clarification from his side and see what's the main problem behind it. Hope it does really help you guys out.

I am one of the streamyx user that was affected. I made a post here somewhere before where my torrent can't even start on popular linux distribution. I rarely downloading data since I am not always at home, but when I need a full speed, I need it for very important things. Now, streamyx just pissed me off. I am on 4 mb package. Finally no cap for my streamyx, and i sleep at 1am still cap.

1am : fileserve downloading speed is 40kbps. (3.22Gb downloading)
6.45am wake up. Fileserve completed download.

JB TM Services center 2281228 was contact me again. But currently at singapore. So call back to center.

same procedure to them:
TM : Mr. Lim, apa masalah streamyx?
Me : The problem remain download speed slow as 0.42Mb
TM : OK, saya pergi check lagi.
Me : Suka Hati kamu la....

i already made a complain... it so obvious they capped our speed. if the wan to con us, they should do it unnoticeable.. stupid.

oh hey.. it's only 9am and i'm back with a slow speed.. really can't predict when the cap is going to on/off...

Contact me and told me that TM really did that kind of practice. Interesting huh? I told them that my friend which got lower package than me can get full speed, they said that's not logic. They told me to send specialist to my house but none so far. Well I told them, please don't bring any technician because they can do nothing about that.

since last night( 1.31am) my speed still burst 190kb/sec+++
last night my ip 60.xxxxxxx now 175.144.xxx.xxx

1mbps package user

for the 1st in 4 3 weeks my uncapped

Owh like usual. Sharp 10 o clock, speed starting to slow down. Megaupload download speed 60kb/s reduced to 30kb/s. Later in the afternoon would be below 20kb/s x.x
