Does ne1 know if the 512kb Streamyx pkg is available and if it is also capped at 512kb cos I am thinking of downgrading my 1mb pkg. No point paying extra for the 1mb pkg if it performs just like the 512kb pkg. Thanks.

actually you should upgrade cos 1Malaysia policy is to rob the poor to subsidise the rich. see how the poor buggers like me on 1mb pkg kena cap like blardy fools while the unifi ppl still getting high speeds! malaysia boleh! if you can afford it better go upgrade to unifi. instead of allocating 10% of the money to improve the country's internet infrastructure they rather spend 100% of the money to build 100 storey building! now you know why FDI is dropping like a stone just like internet speeds.

I just called up 1-300-88-9515 to complain about the slow speed. The CS said that although he couldn't see from his end my exact speed when I was testing on speedtest.net he could see that my line condition was 'very beautiful'. ahhh what can I say!

Sometimes in our frustration and agitation we completely forget that it is really not the fault of these CS for our abysmal speeds and so we take it out on these poor sods who are just doing their jobs. The actual fault lies with those higher up in the TM hierarchy who sets the policies and makes the decisions. The CEO's and whatnots.

And so I told the CS that it may be a problem with my router and I thanked him for his troubles. The 'troubleshooting' session lasted more the 20 minutes and I wondered how many times in a day these poor buggers gets abused by customers calling in.

So spare a thought for these poor CS blokes. They aren't responsible for your problems. They are just there to try and help out as well as earning a living.

They have an impressive looking gadget for testing the telephone line condition. I saw them using it once at my place. Unfortunately for you I already know the outcome whats gonna happen to you tomorrow. They will test your tel line and find it to be a-ok maybe even 'beautiful' cos they gonna look at the SNR and attenuation levels and all that stuff will come out looking immaculate. Don't be surprised if the tech that comes to your place tomorrow is clueless about capping and throttling!

ahh! What to do....it happened to me b4 and I also cannot marah defla cos it's not his fault for the sad state of affairs! Some of these techs are so apologetic esp if you use some big words on them until they become pening kepala cos they can't understand what you are asking! sometimes don't know whether to laugh or cry! *sigh*

if reduce this and that how are they going to build the 100 storey skyscraper or buy ticket for another space tourist?

TM never said it was a problem so what is there to fix?

Request time out has nothing to do with capping. I do not get any request time outs which confirms what the TM CS said that my line condition is 'very beautiful' yet I am still capped and getting very slow download speeds. Request time out could mean there is a network configuration problem with TM's routers or a router is on the blink, nothing to do with capping.

It is permanent. Clampdown on illegal filesharing together with censorship of the internet will be introduced later. It is going to get worse, pls don't dream it will get better cos this is Malaysia NOT South Korea.

It makes no sense why the newspapers can't publish news that TM is now resorting to indiscriminate capping across the board.

If the local MSM can't do it, how about CNN, AFP, Al-Jazeera, Reuters, Fox News etc.

the purpose is to save money cos tmnet dont wanna buy more bandwidth for the country. the purpose is to screw you ppl for more money, hoping you ppl will upgrade to their unifi. tmnet needs more money for the 100 storey merdeka tower and also to buy a ticket for another space tourist. all these things needs money.
