LCD is a good investment..

A LCD seldom age with technology advancement, in fact most newer LCD only get worse due to cost cutting.

After all it's the most used item in your PC and also help you to work more effectively..

An expensive GC will get trash in like? 6 months?
A Processor will only last at most for a year before the next generation come out and makes you feel like upgrading again.

Conclusion: get a good LCD and it will stay with you for a long time unless something unforeseen happened (touch wood!)

Yes I managed to negotiate RM855 and close deal. Unfortunately now RM799! Grr just 3 days ago only. Ya lor it's new item and they want to create awareness and spread the words around. RM799 compared to U2311H RM609. Customer will still consider about U2412M lor.

Thanks for the heads-up. The coupon works for the U2412M.

Funny ... on the website (Small and Medium Business) U2412M is listed as having RM50 additional discount with a different coupon number (which doesn't work at last try), and U2711 as having RM100 additional discount with a coupon number (similar to the one you gave) which doesn't work for the U2711 but works for the U2412M.

Do you have a link to where you saw the offer for the U2412M?

Hi bro, why don't you take the trouble and call up DELL customer service and clear all doubts? Works for me though.

It means you'll have until the end of that day to avail of the offer.

When it's the 19th, the offer won't be there any more.

However, I once read on this forum that someone talked his way through and still got the offer by calling up Dell the next day and claimed there was a problem with his internet connection and wasn't able to submit the order on time, and so on. Anyway, not advisable to take that route. shakehead.gif

Sigh, now it makes me wanna grab another unit! >_< Early worm gets eaten by the bird sad.gif

Anyways, a simple comparison between the Dell U2412M and Samsung 2233SW,

Backlight bleeding,

Both were calibrated to 140cd/m2 using ColorEyes Display Pro via Spyder3Express puck. Its not as obvious as in the photo compared to actual, but had to crank up the exposure to show.
--> Am being curious, yellow cast on the Dell instead white like on the 2233SW?

Continued,

White point,

Somehow, I calibrated both to D65 (6500K) and 140cd/m2 for white point but then... both looks different sad.gif

My iPad 2 which also uses IPS panel, calibrated with SpyderGallery via Spyder3Express has similar white compared to the dell.

Image comparison, the iPad's brightness is not calibrated to 140cd/m2 like the other 2... i only adjust roughly similar that's all.

Gonna say this is amazing, but exposure could have been lower, I thought the U2412M has bad bleeding there... LOL, anyway good job on the review. I might take up this model if I have some spare cash.

FYI, every IPS has the same issue as you're pointing, yellowish tint, it's the IPS clouding and this is common to every single IPS out there, even the H-IPS has this, it does not however affect overall colors during normal viewing so it's not a problem.

Out topic: What camera you using?

I thought this is quite dark already. Oh well, if I use the same exposure as first pic, its pitch black. Can't see anything.

Just to understand, the IPS clouding happens when there is light bleeding? Or even without light bleeding also have?

I'm using D700 + 16-35 f/4 for these photos.
