Hmm, how did you get the RM600 discount? I tried and it still says RM4,299 sad.gif

claw,

check it out on the Small and Medium Business section on the Dell website, and check out from there. Once you "Add To Cart", the additional discount will show.

Added on May 26, 2011, 12:59 ambut, i just wanna know, how to use ps3 on a lcd monitor eh?
like the dell u2311h, it does not have a hdmi input..how?
*
You should have considered that connection issue before you actually bought the monitor, he he .. just kidding.

Get yourself a DVI to HDMI cable. However, this will only carry the video. For the audio, you'll still need to get a decent set of speakers, with sub-woofer if you must. brows.gif

If you already have a HDMI to HDMI cable, you can consider getting a DVI (male) to HDMI (female) adapter.

Any good monitor to recommend for photo editing? Budget say RM1.5K

Dell UltraSharp U2410, currently priced at RM1,699 on Dell's website. However, now and then, Dell does give additional discounts for a few days (look under the Small and Medium Business section). Just have to keep watching. Usually during times when there's a PC fair.

so convert hdmi from ps3 to dvi n cucuk to my monitor? n abt the sound..how to get the sound out? i still dnt understand..

Yes, just get the right cable (or adapter) accordingly and connect your monitor to the PS3. That will cover the video part.

For sound, the PS3 outputs audio through three outlets: HDMI, Optical and AV Multi Out.

Obviously, HDMI option is out as you'll be using it for the U2311H.

You can use the Optical output if your speakers can accommodate it, or connect it to an amplifier. Audio output is 5.1.

For AV Multi Out, use the composite RCA cable which comes with the PS3. One end connects to the AV Multi Out port and the other end comprising red, white and yellow jack. Get a RCA to 3.5 mm adapter. Connect the red and white cable to the adapter and the other end to/from your PC speaker. Audio output is stereo.

Go to the Dell website under Small and Medium Business, under the header for Electronics & Accessories, click on the drop-down menu to go to UltraSharp Monitors. There, you'll see the additional RM200 cash redemption for the U2410. Click the Customize button (in Green). Go through the process, and once you Add To Cart, you'll see the additional discount included and the total price is RM1,499.

Thanks for the photo comparisons FaezFarhan.

The difference becomes most apparent in the viewing angle.

Yeah, why don't you just keep both. Use them for different purposes. thumbup.gif

My first time buying from Dell online, so would like to ask how does the status works? Do Dell usually commit later date but deliver earlier?

Earlier my confirmation email says by 11/8 will deliver, then today when I checked the online status it says 18/8 yawn.gif.

But for the status it is already 'in transit'? Point is, does Dell usually deliver earlier than committed date?

Usually, the order status update (in pictures) on the website is reliable. The dates given are a guide. Also, depends on stock availability. It's possible you'll get your item about 3 days after order, when there is ready stock.

true bro...

U2412M now only RM799...

Thanks for the heads-up. The coupon works for the U2412M.

Funny ... on the website (Small and Medium Business) U2412M is listed as having RM50 additional discount with a different coupon number (which doesn't work at last try), and U2711 as having RM100 additional discount with a coupon number (similar to the one you gave) which doesn't work for the U2711 but works for the U2412M.

Do you have a link to where you saw the offer for the U2412M?

WTA: the coupon expires on the 18th.... Is it still applicable say on 18th 11pm (23.00hours) or does it expires 18th 12am (00.00 hours)? Thanks.

It means you'll have until the end of that day to avail of the offer.

When it's the 19th, the offer won't be there any more.

However, I once read on this forum that someone talked his way through and still got the offer by calling up Dell the next day and claimed there was a problem with his internet connection and wasn't able to submit the order on time, and so on. Anyway, not advisable to take that route. shakehead.gif

No really, I was waiting for a review on this U2412M since it was launch, but I guess what tip the scales is the further discount of RM100.

BTW anybody knows how long this further discount of RM100 offer going to be? hmm.gif

The additional RM100 discount ends Thursday August 18, 2011. You have until the end of that day to get that discount.
