I get about 15.5km/L on highway drives (at 130kmph) and 13.5km/L in town driving on my 2003 Toyota Vios. So at current fuel pricing its about RM0.12 for 100% highway.

when i saw RM0.11 - RM0.13 per-KM with RON95 i was very surprised, but then 510KM for 48L/50L, it is more worse than my 17 years old engine

and RM0.05 - RM0.06 with RON97?? epic fail!


another thing to add, eventho they using the same basic design for every engine, each manufacturer will customize it according to their own priorities. excerpt from wiki:
"Each manufacturer configured their variants of the basic GEMA design differently based on their engineering needs and standards, so consumers may experience very different power, fuel efficiency, and "feel" from each manufacturer."

Well to be fair to Forte owners, the lack of interest in buying a 1 yr old 2nd hand car could also be due to fear. Most of the ppl who sell their cars within the first 3 yrs do so because of accidents. That fear is increased especially if its being sold by 2nd hand car dealers instead of direct owners. We will have a better understanding of the Forte resale value once we've passed the 4 year mark since the launch when there are more 2nd hand units up for sale.

Yes the Jap's surely have better resale value. My 2003 Toyota Vios is still going for about RM 42K (original price was RM 74K+) despite being 8 years old.
