Nolah. It's the new finish. All new Sigma lenses will be in this smooth finish from now on. For the Sigmalux, it's the serial number starting from 11XXXXXX

This is some good news to me. I don't like the fury fury touch. But how's the built of it compare to their previous finishing?

Build to me is the same. The finishing is just different. Feels much better in my hands compared to the old ones.

Sigma supposedly changed to the smooth finish because the old crinkle style finish gets worn off after heavy usage. The crinkle finish would peel off, and many users complained.

Not yet. Still thinking if I should go for 30 or 50 Going to HK next 2 weeks and trying to find some bargain. Heard the sigmalux is going for 1.2k Pretty poisonous. Afraid that later I can't control and ended up bringing both back home.

You're on the 7D right? Honestly I find 50mm on crop too long for my tastes loh. That's why last time when I was using the 40D I rarely use the 50 1.8

But on FF, 50mm is my fav focal length

Wah the new Sigma paint damn nice. My Sigmalux is supposedly 2nd version paint oredi which was said to prevent the peeling probs but it's still the rubbery paint. This new smooth paint is much better now.

Yup it's nice and smooth now, including the hood. But then I think the smooth paintjob on the hood will cause the hood to be easily scuffed, just like the Canon hoods.

yeap... it's a wireless system that comes with the lavs... but we used an AT boom mic instead...
those equipments not mine 1... we rented it from somewhere... cant afford it yet... haih...

i rather get an external preamp than a Zoom recorder... at least it has 2 or 3 mic inputs... since the price is almost the same...

of coz not using AGC... i think all video ppl should know this, rite? haha... i normally test sound 1st... ask actors to speak like normal, then talk louder... then scold ppl... wanna get the perfect level... normally i will set it before yellow bar...
