QUOTE(ianho @ Nov 4 2010, 02:47 PM) Haiyooooooooo the 1D is not using crop sensor to give more focal length la. Go read up properly regarding crop n FF. The reason why Canon use 1.3 crop on the 1D is because that is the limit for shooting at 10fps. If it was a FF sensor it would result in ghosting. The big sensor cannot discharge quick enough. Current technology does not allow Canon to go bigger than 1.3x at 10fps. Just like to ask, how about for Nikon? Both D3 and D3s have 9-11 fps right? But I don't understand why 9-11. LOL.. Not an exact figure.. Editted: Just do some comparison of 5dmk2, 1dsmk3, d3, d3x, d3s. Issit because of the mp of the cam? This post has been edited by Grajindo: Nov 4 2010, 04:27 PM

QUOTE(ianho @ Nov 4 2010, 04:27 PM) Nikon doesn't do 10fps on FF too. It's the same problem every1 will hit. It's a technological barrier they have hit for now. The nikons are in crop mode when doing max fps. But what I see in dpreview is D3 and D3s focal multiplier length is 1 and continuous drive 9-11 fps.

QUOTE(pengster @ Nov 5 2010, 10:21 PM) Mine custom made version. Nolah. It's the new finish. All new Sigma lenses will be in this smooth finish from now on. For the Sigmalux, it's the serial number starting from 11XXXXXX This is some good news to me. I don't like the fury fury touch. But how's the built of it compare to their previous finishing?

QUOTE(fentanyl @ Nov 7 2010, 03:48 PM) Need advice from experts here. I've got RM3000.00 to burn. Plan to buy a new lens. Please look at my signature for my current lenses. Two lenses came up in my mind: 1. Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L 2. Canon EFS 10-22mm Please advice. Other lenses can also be considered. Thanks guys. 10-20 May I know why still consider 17-40 when you have 17-50 f2.8? The picture quality of both really that big difference?

QUOTE(poi2005 @ Nov 9 2010, 08:11 PM) Ohh...OK. That's fine then. How about other brand or type? True, the main reason of the purpose of me wanted to buy all rounded lens is for easy travel, enjoy and capture memories into images , not for competition. I understand that there are advantages and disadvantages of all round lenses, I am not fuss about the image quality like need not to be 100% perfect and also I saw a lot of images taken by all rounded lenese, the quality is there. I am looking for advise of which all rounded lens is more suitable for my purpose (50% scenery, 35% buildings, 10% people, 5% night shot) and suite my 550D as well. Maybe some pro here can give their experience on all rounded lenses I tried 18-270 and it's actually quite nice to use it. The only thing is soft when it reaches like 230 and above. But I don't really care though. So if i were you, i will get it for my travel lense, at the same time will carry external flash.

QUOTE(poi2005 @ Nov 9 2010, 08:36 PM) Thanks for the info. Btw, I saw from other forum mentioned that when zooming the lens (in certain range) it feels a bit hard/stuck, is this true? Cool, might consider a external flash if budget still allow. Ya, the zooming is not that smooth compare to Canon zoom ring. But I guess you will get use to it since it's not a big problem. At least to me.

I think it's because of fluorescent light. This post has been edited by Grajindo: Nov 12 2010, 09:27 PM

QUOTE(ResQ @ Nov 18 2010, 09:24 PM) i'm using 350d. i have problem with Err 99. anyone know how to solve this? if you refer to the manual Err 99 is unknown error. You can try to remove your lens and clean the contact of both the lens and body and see whether it works. If not, maybe you need to send back to service centre. I had this problem with my 400D last time. Mine was because of broken shutter assembly. And they replaced it for me for RM250.
