Hmm thats kinda weird, i just don't really think that bcoz of that it would have cause such drastic temp climb, IIANM those ends are just end-caps to give the cooler a much better look
IMO in some hsf design they just crimped/solder the end of the heatpipe and thus making it not looking that good & to cover it all up they put end-caps to make it look prettier
Have u tried removing one of the end caps & check inside if maybe theres a leak at the end of the heatpipes that may have cause pressure building up during pc operating thus dislodging the end-caps?

Added on April 15, 2011, 10:31 pmall the bend end-caps still intact quite strong the the HSF ... i would need a plier if i want to take off the end-caps ... i would say a big amount of pressure from leaked pipe caused the end-caps to bend during the prime test ...

Got my HSF replacement and prime test again to check on the temp and this is the result :



44C .. Thanks to my Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer ... used one of course .. .. now can continue my OC quest ...

Increase the multi to 18x and the result as below :



45C only ... ... gonna test for 19x after this ...

Result for 19x multi :



46C only ... ... gonna try unlock 1 core and test again ... so happy ...

Unlock 3rd core but stuck at loading windows .. increase Vcore from 1.4 - 1.45 and can start normally ... run test and got this :



Worker#1 failed just after starts priming ... will decrease the multi to 18x and test again ... but later tomorrow coz oredi feel sleepy ...

My OC quest continues after last night 1 core failed after priming at 19x multi and 1.45 Vcore ... Change back to 18x multi and 1.425 Vcore and here the result :



No problem at all ... .. want to do some reading first before continue with 19x multi ...

All test runs well but i've decide to stop after 3 minutes after seeing temperature for TMPIN0 reached 56C ... .. will continue with 4th core after this ...

Priming with 4 core at 1.425 Vcore ... all test runs well and again TMPIN0 reached 56C .. so i've decided to stop ... .. gonna try with lower Vcore ...

just follow some guide to prime will small FFT for 10 minutes ... last nite trying to run prime for 18x multi at lowest Vcore and only manage to start windows with 1.325 Vcore ... still don't able to prime coz need to reset bios after windows only detect 2 cores only ..

Hmm..from what I have learn from the Sifu here is, try to play with other settings and don't just increase the multiplier.

I used to set my multiplier at 18 to get 3.6Ghz but I need to bump my vcore for it to be stable.

Now I set the multiplier at 17 and FSB at 212 and I'm able to get 3.6Ghz without increasing the vcore.

Maybe u should try to play with other settings as well.

Yeah .. that was the idea ... i'm trying to find the lowest Vcore for the proc ro run stable with all 4 cores ... after that will increase the bus speed and adjust the multi to run at 3.6GHz and after that playing with rams ... thanks for the info bro ...

But ur so lucky, manage to unlock ur 555 to quad core.
My balls are not strong enough to take that risk

the extra unlock cores is depends in ur luck bro ... as mine can unlock the extra 2 cores without no prob ... it would be great to see how far the potential of extra cores can go ...

I prime my proc at 3.6Ghz for 1 hour and the temp is already 52c. Almost hit the heat wall edi.
But will still give it a try anyways, see whether I can do it or not

i believe at stock CCF is better but when u do push pull on the 212+ it should be better than CCF stock, CCF cannot do push pull plak
