you sure you put the heatsink properly + remove the plastic at the bottom?

yup..im sure bc i take out the heatsink and clean it up b4 put in new casing..
anywy just now take out mobo from casing..still same condition
2 things in my mind,heatsink or PSU prob?

other hsf to test with?try undervolting?

dont hav other hsf,stock hsf left at hometown under volt?not sure to do tht since all setting oredi back to default..

hi guys .. after some googling and found this guide .. i've decided to give a try with 2 core and run Prime95 Small FFT for 10 minutes and the temp already 64C ... .. is it safe to continue increasing the multi with that kindda temp?

Where u stay? I also quite curious what cause your temp to rise that high...

what are your settings? screenshot of cpuz tabs...

Actually i've followed exactly the guide ...

1. Take it back to a dual core cpu @ stock 3.2ghz - Done this
2. Set CPU-VID to 1.4 (this is higher than what it should need to be but testing for cooling at this point) - Done this
3. Set RAM to 1.5 volts - Done this
4. Set RAM freq./timing to 1333@9-9-9 the rest auto - Done this
5. Set CPU fan to manual and full speed - Dunno how to set this
6. Disable Cool n Quiet - Done this
7. FSB set at 200mhz - Done this
8. HT Link at 1800 (you can work this up higher later) - DOne this
9. Run Core temp and Prime 95 (small FFT) for 10 minutes watching the temps - Done this

From the guide .. make sure the temp do not exceed 55C before increasing the multi ... But with 64C only with 16x ... I don't dare to increase the multi ...

do this in bios, im not familiar with asus bios, so im not sure which part, should be there somewhere..

i suggest you try to reapply TIM + reseat your HSF

i have the same chip as you, shouldnt reach >60C at all at that volts & clocks

just notice there is something wrong with my hsf ... damn cheap HSF ....

Whats wrong with ur HSF? One of the heatpipe bocor already?

even worst ... .. i'll upload the pic later ... nearly burnt my chip as temp before i've shut down my system is 99C ... .. no wonder the item was sold that cheap ...

yeah,better hsf,tunix tx2 i think ,correct me if im wrong n set the pc to shut down at lower temp than 99c...already cn boil water at tht temp

tonite another memtest on a brand new ram,if i can get it tonite...

Really spoiled my OC mood ... now need to find another HSF ...

i have no idea why this happened, how on earth a hsf can be like that?

i have one exactly d same, it's been bout 1 years plus but still goin strong. cogage made pretty good hsf... they dun easily oxidized like d big brother > TR.

it's working fine for normal use as i'm already use the item for about 7 months ... but after trying to OC for the first time last night ... that's happen causing the temp reading so crazy ... and after what i've experienced using this Cogage HSF .. there is no way i'm gonna use it again ...
