After this bro, we go play2 with Llano only bro, no money for bulldozer.. :/lol:
lol... from twin evil to twin cacing... laugh.gif

depends bro, this mite be d last upgrade for me ledi... but if llano comes cheap, then yeah, i'll follow u... nod.gif

dun think 8 cores can be easily affordable unless ter"kick" bag of cash like our dear abg gaban. speakin of him, where is he now? bro -pWs-, sir antonio & few are all mia liao... shocking.gif hmm.gif

QUOTE(Sanko @ Oct 15 2010, 04:44 PM)
ok, here is my thought. although i'm relatively new in AMD. for MSI boards i tested so far for AMD, i'm not really happy with the memory clocking ability. perhaps the 800 series is not as good as MSI 790FX and i believe we (MSI Malaysia and me) all do agree with that. so far i haven't tested and ASUS/Gigabyte AMD mobos, too bad... no time. But for a side note, after testing loads of i5 based boards, Gigabyte H55M-USB3 stands out among all. hehe...

Master Khoo: if only you are here in Malaysia, i'll personally send the 1090T and MSI 870A Fuzion Power to your doorstep for testing!!

so far i have yet to test any msi 8xx board so i cant really comment much. but msi (for amd) always give me d feelin it's mixture of biostar (in term of bios richness for mid range) & asus (build quality). but somehow something missin in their boards, that "ummphhh" which give ppl d feelin that "i must own this board if i have d money". tongue.gif

dun be mistaken, msi are great mobo manufacturer, but their low~mid range boards (eg: DKA790GX[ddr2], 770-g45[ddr3] & 790gx-gd65[ddr3]) lacked d punch (considered OK but biostar can offer slightly better in term of ocibility imo in d same time bein cheaper) while their high end board in K9A2 Platinum V2[ddr2] & 790FX-GD70[ddr3] did pretty well but there were always better choices like dfi 790fxb-m2rs[ddr2] or giga's 790fxt [ddr3], & ch3[ddr3] - d most expensive board of all 790fx boards. i saw those pros used these boards & they managed to achieve not only good but great things. > correct me bout this as i hardly go hwbot to check wr. sweat.gif

for 8xx series, i'm kinda puzzled by their move in puttin only 4+1 pwm on their highest end board in 890fxa. i know d quality of components used is a class higher if compared to giga/asus but some will have 2nd thought to stress d board to d max, especially those with pots. then come d 870a fusion power w 8+2 pwm, but with only 2 pci-e x16 for fusion setup & that 4pins +12v eps... sad.gif again, correct me if i'm wrong, fusion capable boards should have 3 (or more) x16 slots for better scaling, some more on 870 chipset which have limited pci-e lanes compared to 890fx. hmm.gif

ofcos, these are all based on my noob experience only lah... i didn't even bench with extreme coolin & know 0 bout high end gfx benchin (still usin dinosaur cards in 3850s, who am i here to comment)... doh.gif

& pls stop callin me master or whatsoever bro, i'm just a casual clocker & never did anything with "wow" effect. what i achieved are not even comparable to half of what u guys (d intel gurus & d amd pros) did... nod.gif

@sanko
sorry.. i cant even boot with 1600mhz dvider..
and i guess that is the bios fault..not the mobo...

i boot with quite loose setting.. the max read latency is ridiculous..
i expect around 50 but it boot with 40.. i donno wat is the prob.. but all AOD timings been monitored..
luckily this board i able to change the max read latency.. most boards i tried i just cant change.. once apply, will freeze no matter loosening or tightening.. some cases i can change but max is 2~3 ..but this board can straight away change from 40 to 45..5 is quite a big number to me tho

and the R to W DQS count quite weird..
like random..
normally it will boot with 6... and sometimes (very rare for me) it will be 8..but that mobo with 10.the number is not my liking.. laugh.gif

these are 1st impressions.. google for bios update but not exist laugh.gif

max bootable with 1333mhz dvider
1640mhz 7-8-7
1700mhz 7-9-7.

1600mhz dvider wont boot with cl7.. sorry..limited skill.

Attached Image
using my regular 1st.. later try new imc.. but i dont think i can do much..
fyi.. other boards can do 1840mhz stable with same timings..this is abit let down.. sorry.. cry.gif

i might be wrong with all the statements above.. do correct me if im wrong then notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

hei guys.....
i guess no one rmb me anyway...
btw i have a problem now...
few days be4 i was able to overclock n play games....
till just now, i've got a new HDD, plug it in and run....
but all i got is BSOD be4 windows....
then i've tested the rams and found out 1 had caused it...
so unplug it is the normal action we take...
but problem doesn't ends there...
thn i tried booting up and it works...
after 1 or more reboot, the system just couldn't get through BIOS...
From the mobo LEDs, the LED meant "memory problem"...
that only ram running in the mobo a minute ago just got back from RMA a few months ago...
any idea what's the culprit?
or any ocer in Cyberjaya willing to test out my rams?

Yes, we remember u bro, that's a tough nut to crack, to me the best way to be sure is by using a different set of rams to test on ur pc hmm.gif

That's quite normal for ahsus mobo's nowadays sweat.gif , u need to enable the cpu load line calibration in the bios to make sure it won't vdroop.. Even my CIV4 has the same symptoms.. sweat.gif

Yup, u can try using ram's from ur other pc.. Usually if u don't insert the ram in the slot the bios screen would not be accessible hmm.gif
BTW ur running ur cpu unlocked right? Have u tried running it at stock locked? hmm.gif
