Hi guys .. noob here ... i'm just trying to learn in OC .. got confused a bit ... i want to know about my max FSB by increasing it by 10 until max ... so, no matter how i increase the FSB .. the idea is try to run at almost the same as stock speed rite? or i'm wrong? sweat.gif ... then ...CPU/NB Freq should be set to auto or what? and HT Link speed also set to auto or set it with the same one with FSB? guide needed ... tq notworthy.gif

everything should be close to stock, ram speed, cpu/nb, ht (2000mhz)

thanks for ur response bro but i still can't really understand about how to set everything at 2000Mhz ... sweat.gif .. will try to continue googling before can start ocing ... biggrin.gif .. thanks again

hi guys .. after some googling and found this guide .. i've decided to give a try with 2 core and run Prime95 Small FFT for 10 minutes and the temp already 64C ... sweat.gif .. is it safe to continue increasing the multi with that kindda temp? blush.gif

what are your settings? screenshot of cpuz tabs...
*
Actually i've followed exactly the guide ...

1. Take it back to a dual core cpu @ stock 3.2ghz - Done this
2. Set CPU-VID to 1.4 (this is higher than what it should need to be but testing for cooling at this point) - Done this
3. Set RAM to 1.5 volts - Done this
4. Set RAM freq./timing to 1333@9-9-9 the rest auto - Done this
5. Set CPU fan to manual and full speed - Dunno how to set this
6. Disable Cool n Quiet - Done this
7. FSB set at 200mhz - Done this
8. HT Link at 1800 (you can work this up higher later) - DOne this
9. Run Core temp and Prime 95 (small FFT) for 10 minutes watching the temps - Done this

From the guide .. make sure the temp do not exceed 55C before increasing the multi ... But with 64C only with 16x ... I don't dare to increase the multi ... sweat.gif

i suggest you try to reapply TIM + reseat your HSF

i have the same chip as you, shouldnt reach >60C at all at that volts & clocks

just notice there is something wrong with my hsf ... damn cheap HSF .... vmad.gif

Hmm thats kinda weird, i just don't really think that bcoz of that it would have cause such drastic temp climb, IIANM those ends are just end-caps to give the cooler a much better look hmm.gif
IMO in some hsf design they just crimped/solder the end of the heatpipe and thus making it not looking that good & to cover it all up they put end-caps to make it look prettier hmm.gif
Have u tried removing one of the end caps & check inside if maybe theres a leak at the end of the heatpipes that may have cause pressure building up during pc operating thus dislodging the end-caps? hmm.gif
Just my 2 cents ah smile.gif
*
all the bend end-caps still intact quite strong the the HSF ... i would need a plier if i want to take off the end-caps ... i would say a big amount of pressure from leaked pipe caused the end-caps to bend during the prime test ... hmm.gif

Got my HSF replacement and prime test again to check on the temp and this is the result :

44C .. rclxms.gif Thanks to my Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer ... used one of course .. tongue.gif .. now can continue my OC quest ... flex.gif

Increase the multi to 18x and the result as below :

user posted image

45C only ... rclxms.gif ... gonna test for 19x after this ... tongue.gif

Result for 19x multi :

46C only ... rclxms.gif ... gonna try unlock 1 core and test again ... so happy ... tongue.gif

Unlock 3rd core but stuck at loading windows .. increase Vcore from 1.4 - 1.45 and can start normally ... run test and got this :

Worker#1 failed just after starts priming ... will decrease the multi to 18x and test again ... but later tomorrow coz oredi feel sleepy ... tongue.gif

My OC quest continues after last night 1 core failed after priming at 19x multi and 1.45 Vcore ... Change back to 18x multi and 1.425 Vcore and here the result :

No problem at all ... biggrin.gif .. want to do some reading first before continue with 19x multi ... rclxms.gif

Happy ocing bro!

Thanks bro ... smile.gif

Latest test with 19x multi and 1.475 Vcore ... here teh result :

All test runs well but i've decide to stop after 3 minutes after seeing temperature for TMPIN0 reached 56C ... sweat.gif .. will continue with 4th core after this ... tongue.gif

Priming with 4 core at 1.425 Vcore ... all test runs well and again TMPIN0 reached 56C .. so i've decided to stop ... tongue.gif .. gonna try with lower Vcore ... biggrin.gif

how long u prime?
what setting/test of prime u using?

nice, keep up the effort tongue.gif

just follow some guide to prime will small FFT for 10 minutes ... last nite trying to run prime for 18x multi at lowest Vcore and only manage to start windows with 1.325 Vcore ... still don't able to prime coz need to reset bios after windows only detect 2 cores only .. sweat.gif

Hmm..from what I have learn from the Sifu here is, try to play with other settings and don't just increase the multiplier.

I used to set my multiplier at 18 to get 3.6Ghz but I need to bump my vcore for it to be stable.

Now I set the multiplier at 17 and FSB at 212 and I'm able to get 3.6Ghz without increasing the vcore.

Maybe u should try to play with other settings as well.
*
Yeah .. that was the idea ... i'm trying to find the lowest Vcore for the proc ro run stable with all 4 cores ... after that will increase the bus speed and adjust the multi to run at 3.6GHz and after that playing with rams ... thanks for the info bro ... notworthy.gif

But ur so lucky, manage to unlock ur 555 to quad core.
My balls are not strong enough to take that risk sweat.gif

the extra unlock cores is depends in ur luck bro ... as mine can unlock the extra 2 cores without no prob ... it would be great to see how far the potential of extra cores can go ... tongue.gif
