a quickie....is it ok to bump the memory speed upward 1st then tighten the timing...encounter some memory issue rite now...nid to set the vdimm to 1.67v or it wont post with default setting 7-9-7-24...or hv to set fsb to 240 n memory multiplier to 6.66 n vdimm of 1.65v...both memory speed at 1600mhz

I have squeeze every juice in my brain but still cannot think of any cause for your problem...
There aren't many things that will cause the CPU temp to jump that high.
1 very tiny possibility is short circuit but that will almost instantly fry ur CPU.

if short circuit sure "smell something" oredi..anywys last nite i gaming Prince of Persia,fight last 2 boss and can finish the game without prob bout temp reach 115c but today my lil bro play Dark Sector around 1hr+...bomb!! shut down

no la.. it wont give any smell unless u have some part burnt.
if can on pc and play, i doubt its short circuit.. cuz common to have ur pc shut down when short circuit..

i cant push my fsb past 2500mhz
i cant push my ram past 1820mhz(timing on auto tho)
but the fsb can be raised to 290...ram related?

tis 2 number is all it can be coz higher than tht,boot up error

cpu freq raised to 290*15=4350
can boot past bios n almost to windows boot screen...it juz freeze there

how high can the nb go depends on your cpu...not ram

if you want to know how far your ram can go, leave others @ stock and just OC the ram

Hi guys .. noob here ... i'm just trying to learn in OC .. got confused a bit ... i want to know about my max FSB by increasing it by 10 until max ... so, no matter how i increase the FSB .. the idea is try to run at almost the same as stock speed rite? or i'm wrong? ... then ...CPU/NB Freq should be set to auto or what? and HT Link speed also set to auto or set it with the same one with FSB? guide needed ... tq

everything should be close to stock, ram speed, cpu/nb, ht (2000mhz)

shud memtest it stick by stick when i got it ...instead i juz camo the fault by adding more voltage to the ram...thts may be the reason it pass memtest after a few tweak...
