Reflash isn't necessary, a factory reset probably is.

Added on September 8, 2010, 9:18 pmAnyway if you have titanium backup you can restore that particular app.

This is what i've done.
I back up all those apps that i want to remove.
Then i uninstall those apps.
Then i reset my phone.
Got an error related to google (google app i think)
I ignore, continue using phone.
Then, i want to update some apps.
Stuck at "starting download"
After that, i restore those apps that i uninstalled.
Reset.
Still got that error.
I think what i'm going to do now is wait for official froyo.
Thanks anyway.

Just reinstall those apps that you removed, since you said you've done a backup on them.

Would like to share my experience using the SGS with Digi Network....

I was on holiday, driving frm Klang to Kuala Terengganu and then by ferry to Pulau Redang.

1. When i left Klang at night, it was raining, thus the GPS cannot lock on the sats. No issue abt that. Maybe bcoz of heavy cloud cover.

2. Abt 20km from KT town, GPS got a lock. Using Google Maps brut edition, works very well.

3. On ferry, half way to the island, Digi Network, got full bar on phone signal. Internet is Edge and then drop to GPRS. So, still can post to facebook! smile.gif

4. On the island, access to internet is via GPRS slow but usable. GPS is ok. not a issue.

5. On the way back from KT town to Klang, GPS is online 99% of the time. Did hv a signal loss abt 6 times but got a relock few minutes later. Internet access is mostly Edge.

Now, who ever says that Digi coverage is bad??? : whistling.gif

With the experience i had on Digi Network, i can say it's the best there is in the market. If the area u are at has 3G, u get 3G, if not, HSPDA, if not Edge and lastly GPRS!!

On the island, i can still surf the net but of course slow. Good for checking yr emails, and post to facebook.

Got my SGS on 27/8 and till now only finished v2 only Give up continue reading n gonna skip v3 d...if not dunno when only i am able to catch up with you guys. So if i ask any questions that have been asked please please bear with me ya. tongue.gif

Updated the stock firmware to DXJG4 thru samsung kies but seems like the stock firmware is better. Now sometimes when i exit an app, my live wallpaper will become black background with a small rectangle box of the live wallpaper only.

Thought wanna flash it but i scare will have -ve effect on my SGS.
What you all said about bricking the phone after flash means the hp cant be used if failed?

brick = cannot start

You can reflash always by entering download mode

Root your phone and follow my memory kill config guide, use my memory levels as a base and tweak to your liking. Those values work for me, but may not for you, so use as your discretion.

Hi sifus,

If I go to Settings, Privacy, Factory data reset. Will my phone be reset to current JG 4 firmware or to JF 4 when I first bought the phone? I think I have messed up on the vlingo installation and would like to clean up the phone to start all over again. Will factory data reset help me to start all over? Thanks
*
If your current firmware is JG4, then it will reset to JG4.

Yeah... i've just got my SGS just now and using Digi Smart Plan. To my surprise the speed is very very good here in Subang. I got HSDPA signal with speed of 1029kbps/365kbps dlod/uplod, tested using speedtest. rclxms.gif
