GPS ALWAYS drain battery.

Yes I know. But even after I exit the GPS, it is still consuming battery power when I check on the battery use in settings. I think this is a bug in android software. Anyone can confirm this?

Added on September 8, 2010, 10:12 amI found a thread about this GPS draining battery issue... Very similar to my problem. I need to restart my SGS in order to clear away the GPS software from draining my battery.

My gps works properly now. Satellite fix under 15 seconds.
I am in another place now. And i am using 3G, previously i use auto (gsm/3G).
So what's the verdict here?

Hi all the sifu here...would like to ask a question about OCLF. When i installing OCLF, we allow to adjust the EXT2 size.
May i know what is EXT2 size for? What is the recommend size to allocate for it? icon_question.gif

hey guys.
I love this phone.
but I've some problem with the Vingo app that's included in the phone.
After I launch it for the first time. the 2nd time when I launch it, it requires me to enter activation code. when i click the button, it goes in to a page but later on it just shows unable to access the page.

So how do I activate it?

thanks.

Added on September 8, 2010, 12:05 pmhey dude,

I've followded the quickfix provided in the forum but it still doesn't fix the issue.

check your battery history, i bet not the android system. i have the same problem of serious drain make the phone just last a day and found out that some software keep the phone from going to sleep.

also, i do note that the papago stand a significant amount of battery consumption in percentage even after i close it. not sure why but on battery consumption wise, not seeing an impact

thx for the tip.
downloading Vlingo from market place.
seems like it works this time. Vlingo came with samsung phone must be the version requires activation before Vlingo goes free because of Google voice. they discontinued the activation page that's why.

btw, does anyone know what kinda stand I can buy for this phone?
i'm interested to put a stand in the car that I use it as a charging point and also as a convenient place to use my phone as GPS device.

not sure whether I can include link to this.

Added on September 8, 2010, 4:44 pmhey mate. thanks for the link.

I'm still new in this android phone.
I would like to know how can I keep all of the installed app, data and configurations in this phone when I flash it with new rom?

Am I going to lose all of the configurations after flashing?

is kies going to back up the configurations for us and can we sync back later on?

thanks in advance.
