QUOTE(sacredprey_005 @ Sep 6 2010, 05:44 PM) Hi, why not flash to Malaysia's fw?Newbie here... Really need help. I just bought the samsung galaxy phone and found out that I got the Korean version. I got a korean text input, lots of korean apps, and korean ring tones. Is there a way to change the version of the phone to like an all english one? Hope someone could help me. Not that really technical so please just use simple terms smile.gif Btw, when I check *#1234# It says: PDA: M110S.DG23.1409 PHONE: M110S.DG24.0131.ST H/W: REV0.8 MOVINAND: DF29 Thanks in advance for any help!... c'mon now, this page wasn't so hard to understand. just take 15 minutes to read and understand. but be warned: once u flash ur warranty are void. and u risk bricking ur phone and render it useless. |

QUOTE(hihihehe @ Sep 7 2010, 02:55 PM) just applied it.. any local dealer or LYN Member selling those SGP? would like to buy but don't have ebay or credit card.i can say this SP is worth the price!! it can't tell is there any SP on the screen...no fingerprint at the screen FOR NOW..(i check back to see is it the SP really on my screen lol) nice package and handling to prevent the SP getting bent(rare case though) just a bit hard to swipe around but it will back to normal after a bit of usage... the brightness and clarity still remain the same.. suitable with my oily face really happy with it here is the link if u interested(which i think the cheapest i can find) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=170532762598 Added on September 7, 2010, 3:06 pmand a breaking news, our Hummingbird will be in history soon?lol http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/07/samsung...a9-weve-all-be/ BTW have u tried DCMUGEN Matte SP for SGS? any difference with SGP oleophobic? |

QUOTE(MYstombox @ Sep 7 2010, 03:20 PM) Need to wait at least 1 year before we see actual products on shelves with that processor I guess. still don't understand what "cutouts" means..Added on September 7, 2010, 3:21 pm Quality wise cannot compare. The cutouts on the SGP are perfect, whereas the DCmugen one isn't and doesn't seem so refined. I still haven't used my oleophobic ones from SGP yet, I'm using the one that came with the SGP case I got. Which is the ultra clear. No scratches thus far as I can tell. And very very clear. As good as not having anything on in terms of visual clarity. is it "the feeling of SP not being there" or something to that effect? clarify a bit lah |

QUOTE(MYstombox @ Sep 7 2010, 03:40 PM) cutouts meaning the holes for earspeaker and the home button. oh i see. thanks for clarifying.I suppose cutouts is a very normal term to use for screen protectors, do a bit of reading? and sorry for being a n00b. lol well, about visibility. do you know any SP that are clear type but at the same type anti-fingerprints or oil resistant? does SGP oleophobic fits with all of that criteria? BTW, thanks for ur tip earlier (using Minfreemanager). it really works! |

For instance, mini diary, write and go, google talk, etc. Actually i found another application which is almost the same name as google talk. But i deleted both of those files. Can anyone please send me that app? i googled this issue, and it seem it is related to google talk. Please help, any sifus. Don't want to re-flash again. T__T |

QUOTE(MYstombox @ Sep 8 2010, 09:18 PM) Reflash isn't necessary, a factory reset probably is. This is what i've done.Added on September 8, 2010, 9:18 pmAnyway if you have titanium backup you can restore that particular app. I back up all those apps that i want to remove. Then i uninstall those apps. Then i reset my phone. Got an error related to google (google app i think) I ignore, continue using phone. Then, i want to update some apps. Stuck at "starting download" After that, i restore those apps that i uninstalled. Reset. Still got that error. I think what i'm going to do now is wait for official froyo. Thanks anyway. |

QUOTE(yuhao @ Sep 18 2010, 03:51 PM) I just found out from Google, the issue was created only becoz of invalid filename. Hence what I did is go through all the file in the memory and delete the strange file extension like ".%FFIEJ2_VS%20" and clear all temporary internet file and cache. This issue has been discussed several times before. Deleting that file fixed the problem. My hypothesis is that the MTP application scans the SD cards for files, looking at file types, and when it comes across that nasty filetype, it crashes... restarts... crashes... forever. My suggestion is to look into your SD card files (start with Foursquare!) and see if you have any unusual file extensions. Removing those may resolve your problem. actually want to ask gurus and sifus here about something. Can we use MicroSDHC class 10 with SGS? |

QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Sep 21 2010, 04:45 PM) Ya, perli a bit la. I will say the same. Saves me the trouble later, in case their phone become FUBAR. Due to general lack of knowledge and lazy to read FAQs Seriously, though, iPhone4 is an excellent example of an almost perfect matching of OS and device (both from Apple ma). So for users who want a superb smartphone without having to fool/mess around with settings and tweaks and other techie 'headaches', go for the iPhone4. I'm a tech-freak so the SGS give me ample opportunities to 'fcuk' around with the OS and phone. My first ever Android phone, this SGS, and it's been a lot of fun and pain so far.. Generally, when someone asks me, 'hi there, can you advise me which is better, iPhone4 or XXX', I will gladly tell them to go for the iPhone4.. Noob=iphone Superuser=u know what lah..
