No my account not lock. Once a while I can login. Sometimes cant. Probably someone trying to hack into my account. But balance is intact.

I use Maybank2U and RHB Online. Both fit my simple banking needs.

RHB Online does have a problem with Firefox when it comes to Interbank GIRO though. It doesn't work at all, so I have to use Internet Explorer to use it. Very annoying.

In Australia, the banks show more details about the transaction than in Malaysia. For example..

16/05/2005 7-ELEVEN 1122H FLINDERS ST MELB VIC
014634 $27.90
13/05/2005 MCDONALD S 0232 ELIZABETH STREET VIC
043092 $5.25
12/05/2005 7-ELEVEN 1146 CARLTON WEST VIC
029471 $25.90
12/05/2005 NETBANK TRANSFER 2063 $16.20

(1) maybank2u.com
(2) pbebank.com (public bank)
(3) www.citibank.com.my

I use Firefox for browsing but for the above sites, I used IE.

p0ser - are you using IE or some other browser for maybank2u.com? I think it is optimised for IE.

One good feature is when u're loged in and u're away for like 1 minute, it auto logs you out.

I don't think it would leak to outside unless your browser has very serious flaw
It is, however recommended to clear your cache if you were using public computer.

Internet banking FREE for almost every bank.

The only charge for certain bank services; for instance, GIRO interbank fund transfer will be RM2. Standard price.

I don't think you can trace that.

Maybe you can trace back the transaction for the account number from the same bank. Interbank fund transfer might be harder to do so.

Hey why don't have AllianceBank in your list?
https://www.multilink.com.my/

I use it for paying bills, transferring, etc. Very good, except can't pay water bill, don't know why.

Others I use is Citibank, HSBC, just for the credit card accounts.

I assumed you're referring to SYABAS water bill since I saw your location is in Pudu. Well, PB can.

I can't pay my Perbadanan Air Melaka (PAM) Water neither with Maybank2u, PB nor BCB.

Maybank2u...?

Haha, share a story here.. I'm using maybank2u since 1 month ago...

Everything works fine, one day, can't login using my username/password... decided to call the number on the screen...

And out of all things, the number that I called didn't offer any options for me to enquire/reset my username/password...And they didn't even offer and option for me to talk to their customer service personnel...

So why on earth in the first place you put a number there and said (Please call this xxx if you forget your password...) ...

I'm like HSBC UK online banking... very good in term of interface and very user friendly... safer...

Convenient, shows all the details for each transactions smile.gif

You can ask the customer service receptionist to reset your password. They prompt you some questions for verification purposes. Answer them, they reset it for you. After you need to go to the ATM machine and get the new access PIN.

In terms of bill payment, it's superior.

In terms of fund transfer, it's quite secure as you need a TAC to proceed.

You can set maximum credit limit for the above 2 items such RM1k, 2k or 3k.

Reply after two months. biggrin.gif The problem is after i changed my password i cannot remember. Normally i only have a set of password which using both alpabets and numbers. In the end have to go to one of the branch to register again. sweat.gif

Jaffar : Maybe Maybank is not the best, but it is the most common one. Most of online sellers and buyers only have Maybank2U, which means i always have to pay additonal RM2 for every transaction. doh.gif Dont ask me why i dont have Maybank2u. sweat.gif

Usually, there's no charge to transfer money to accounts within the SAME bank.

For a transfer to OTHER banks, a RM2 charge is imposed for processing and it takes 2 to 3 days for the transaction to be completed.

I use Maybank2U and RHB Online. Both fit my simple banking needs.

RHB Online does have a problem with Firefox when it comes to Interbank GIRO though. It doesn't work at all, so I have to use Internet Explorer to use it. Very annoying.

In Australia, the banks show more details about the transaction than in Malaysia. For example..

16/05/2005  7-ELEVEN 1122H FLINDERS ST MELB VIC
014634  $27.90
13/05/2005  MCDONALD S 0232 ELIZABETH STREET VIC
043092  $5.25
12/05/2005  7-ELEVEN 1146 CARLTON WEST VIC
029471  $25.90
12/05/2005  NETBANK TRANSFER 2063  $16.20

Im using Maybank2u and PBE ones.
Using HSBC (Aus) too, but not sure if its the same as HSBC (Msia).

Most ppl are using Maybank2u.
Will be great if Maybank2u can allow ppl to enter a transaction description.
And if charge less for Interbank transfer even better. Haha tongue.gif

ps: Hahaha, is that McD the one nxt to Vic mart? tongue.gif

The interbank transaction service charge is fixed at the same price tag for all the banks (local) in Malaysia under the GIRO scheme.

I think the most important part for ebank is security......The most appealing for maybank2u is TAC . It provide more security, i dont think other banks provide, sorry if it is. I only use maybank2u. If the bank does not provide security such as TAC ..i can easily put a trojan at my fren comp or any public comp to extract passpword for ebanking and mail back to me.... without TAC i easily can steal others money...dont u think so?

For BCB, if your want to do a fund transfer you need to key in the answer for the secret question.

For PB and Maybank, there's a transaction limit for fund transfer. BCB doesn't have. Another plus point for Maybank will be a transaction limit for bills payment.

All these TAC and set transaction limit are considered as security matter. Provides another layer of security.

I only use my PC at work and at home to access e-banking. So, I doubt you can hack my passwords. Therefore, no security problems even without TAC.

I am a public bank account user. Just screened through the website, didn't mention what to bring along if want to apply e-banking.

It just shows that I need to do it in the bank itself(quite troublesome, thought that application can be done with internet)...

I left my bank book(the small book, not sure what it call) in my hometown, so could I just ask my parents to do it for me(apply for e-banking), or my present and signature is required?

It depends on the encryption algorithm they implemented and the strength (keyspace) of the password (authenticiation method based on something you know).

For PB, you need to apply at the PB branch.

For Maybank and BCB, you can or need to do it on your own at the ATM machine to get the first time login PIN.

i can if i know ur server admin at ur work ..i can change the DNS server at ur work to point to fake maybank ..then i can harvest ur password

i can if ...there are few ways to get the password and without extra layer of security like TAC i can tell u somebody can get ur money smile.gif

What makes you guys think that Mayabank2u is insecure and inferior to other online banking services?

I'm comfortable with it so far and haven't had any major issue yet
I've been using it for ages and it does just what I intended to.

maybank2u is the best. i did a lot of things. i can schedule monthly rental payment to my landlord and also purchase air asia ticket. they also inform u immediately via sms when any fund transfer is successful.

the only scary thing is when the internet hangs or slow down when doing any transaction. luckily until now, there's no problem when i stop or refresh the page. It'll always logout when u refresh the page.

The monthly payment can be done with with standing instruction in BCB e-channel too.

When doing an online transaction, it's better to have a smooth connection especially for those using dial up.

Maybank2u is great. Maybank ATM sux, many times down.

the other day i want to get money, go Bdr Sri Dsara branch - all down. RHB also down. fine, go Shell Station BU - also down. grrr........ finally go SS2 to get $$$

anyway. RHB online i tried before, but always have problem. Funds Transfer never worked for me regardless of how many times i tried.
RHB Online transfers works fine on IE, but not Firefox

....At least in my case...

But I also use RHB, that's the only bank account I have besides BSN (never bother to check) and Tabung Haji. So lazy to open Maybank.

I'm using Maybank2u and HSBC. both are good but Maybank, having dominance in the local market, has a lot more facilities.

HSBC is not local bank; it's a foreign bank. You can't expect so much from it.

Which will take me another week! aihh....anyone knows whether BCB has Master or Visa debit card? i want to use it for ebay etc.

Yesterday I went to PB and they used a MyKad reader to access the information stored in my MyKad. Does others banks are doing that too now?

What kind of information could they access to with that reader?

had only 2 banks in my life.. public bank when my mom brought me to open an account there during my teenage years.. RHB Bank.. needed when working for this particular company.. sucks!

used PBeBank mostly to pay for my streamyx bills.. checking balance..

well.. maybe that's because it's a foreign bank and an american bank??
using it for doing transaction for my dad's..
didn't really notice the performance, etc. but overall it's good.

*
what u need to bring to apply for internet banking with PB: ATM card and urself..
and apply through PB ATM machine.. get the slip, go back home, get online and key-in the temporary ID and password.. you're done!

this is how i had mine..

I am paying thru Maybank2u since mid-2004. It is great & convenient despite the RM1 charge per transaction.

The first time i paid i was so nervous (knowing our gov depts sweat.gif ), i called PTPTN up after payment..confirm money received.

Now they will send a balance statement via post to us, i got mine late last year - the figures are spot-on correct !! thumbup.gif

Hint: You can pay more than 1 mnth installment(or any amount for that matter) to save on the transaction charges.

How many days the transaction to be succeeded?

If we do the transaction at the bank counter, the RM1 transaction fee is still appliable?

Anybody tries this on other bank offers like BCB or PB internet banking?

They're advanced. HSBC is among the pinoeer banks who are adopting hardware security token in order to access to their Online/Internet Banking system.

In term of local banking services, they may be lagging behind. Even tough they do offer local banking services, they may impose fees/charges on it.

The transcation is generated randomly for each session like Maybank's TAC or it acts like password or PIN.

Standard Chartered recently launched their Internet and Mobile Banking services. I tried both, the Internet banking is very limited compared to Maybank2U and AllianceOnline, and the Mobile Banking is hopeless - it only supports a few smartphones, they sent me the URL for the app and I couldn't even install it.

Are yr accounts linked into 1 Maybank2u login? For me, once I login, I can see all my accounts at once, and I can do fund transfer and payment very easily. Even payment to other banks if u want to but with charges.

Yes, you can apply TAC from ATM machine. Otherwise, you can register your valid handphone at ATM machine that you use to receive the TAC via SMS with. After this little registration, you can apply TAC online under the Utilities menu.

Most of the cases you'd need to have a credit card

Guess it's not the problem with the bank but instead your roaming telco. sweat.gif

Nahh...been using maybank2u for 3 years, so far no charging annual fee.
Now use Maybank2U only for online transaction and to check my account balance. smile.gif

Taken from maybank2u:

There is a charge of RM10 plus RM1 per page for bank account statements. Credit card and balance transfer account statements are free. Other services such as account summary, transaction history, FD and loan enquiries are free too.

Apply for TAC.

Then click on Fund Transcation and select the desired type of transfer.

Key in the recipient account number.

Then you'll be requested to key in the TAC.

Key in that TAC and confirm your transaction.

You're done!

Payment instruction sent from one bank to another by electronic means, either SWIFT or telex. This is generally the method of choice for urgent or high-value payments.

I use M2U & HSBC at the moment ...

I prefer M2U because it is more secure than HSBC eventhough both has the common features like fund transfer, bill payment ....etc

Reason 1:

M2U : need Transaction Authorisation Code (TAC) which is a unique, 6-digit code that will be a compulsory requirement for specific online transactions. The TAC is computer-generated and provide a second layer of authentication (identification) as a security check before you perform specific transactions. this is important in the case that u leave ur pc for a short moment (5 min), and other people want to transfer your money out from your account, they wont be able to do it because TAC is needed and this TAC is only sms to your H/P. (Note: SMS charges are free at the moment.)

user posted image

HSBC : do provides a second layer of authentication (identification) as a security check by using a special device whereby u have to carry it with u all the time vmad.gif and this security code is enter at the beginning. so let say if u oredi log in and u leave ur pc for a while (5 min to toilet), other people may use the chance to transfer ur money to other account.

user posted image

Reason 2:

M2U : when we do Fund Transfer, acc holder name is shown to let us confirm the acc no before we proceed the transaction.

user posted image

HSBC : No Acc Holder name is shown. So we dunno whether we are transfering to the correct acc.

Wonder how the HSBC online system designers designed such transfer without showing the account holder name to confirm for the accuracy. shakehead.gif

Maybank2u is easy to use, lots of place with auto deposit. My only downside is that only a few (eg telekom) that support maybank credit card payment via maybank2u. I want more points tongue.gif

So pay via citibank, transfer via maybank. (RM2 per transfer)

I use Hotlink, and of late maybank2u's TAC system is slow. Received about 2-3 hrs later, by that time the TAC no longer valid already  doh.gif

I thought it's valid for the whole day for the day your requested. You can use the same TAC for other applications that need it.

QUOTE(paSSerby @ Jul 6 2006, 10:04 PM)
Reason 2:

M2U : when we do Fund Transfer, acc holder name is shown to let us confirm the acc no before we proceed the transaction.

HSBC : No Acc Holder name is shown. So we dunno whether we are transfering to the correct acc.
I guess many banks do show the recipient's name and account number.

QUOTE(keyz @ Jul 7 2006, 04:57 PM)
BSN have internet banking ? I have BSN account but never know they have that facility. Most of the time I used M2U only.

They do have it but not as popular as Maybank2u.

How much Maybank2u charges for a payment made to PTPTN? RM2?

AFAIK, BCB chanel-e charges 50 cents only.

TAC can be obtained online, ATM or phone banking.

The online version is the easiest method. Once requested, it'll be sent to the mobile phone you registered.

RM1. The transaction charge is shown when you reach the payment confirmation page. I usually pay for several months installament to save on these charges.

Go to ATM. Play around with the options (because I forgotten the exact steps sweat.gif ) till you see Maybank2U > Register Mobile Phone for TAC (or something like that). So, each time you just need to click Request TAC and they will send it to your mobile phone automatically instead of going to ATM to request for it smile.gif

I deposited an outstation cheque at PB at the machine.

It charged me 50 cents and it's stated on the receipt. Plus it requires 5 days for float.

After 5 days, I checked back my balance ... it doesn't include the 50cents. Anybody can explain why so?

How about interbank credit card payment? Currently i'm using maybank 2 pay my citibank. Although it charge RM2 per transfer, it way-way easier than writing check, pos it, or go to the citibank tower in KL. I also used it sometimes for my dad HSBC credit card payment. Really convinient.

Now, most of these discussion is about which one is better. I just want to ask, have anyone been victim of internet fraud before and what are the feedback from any of this bank? This can be helpfull. Heard lots of stories, but no sure if true.

I myself never on internet thinggy, but before the chip comeout, my citibank was cloned and the b***rd manage to use about RM2000 in a single day! Luckily citibank call me and ask about this weird transaction. (RM80 fuel three times, buying stuff etc) and they stop my card, sent a new one in three days, and never charge me any of those. Phew.

edit : Even my cummulated point didn't disapear, they transfer it to my new card. (well not including the fraud one)

Actually the interbank GIRO transfer is quite convenient but RM2 per transaction is damn expensive.

If you have Master and Visa card, you need to pay RM4.

Alliance Bank charges RM1 per transaction. 50% cheaper.

I'm using the following online banking services:

- Citibank
- Maybank2u
- RHB Bank
- Hong Leong Bank

Maybank2u ranks first on my list, while RHB Bank ranks the lowest, with untidy interfaces, lots of unfixed errors, browser compatibility issues etc.

For PB, you can withdraw till you left RM1 in the account. Not so sure if it's applicable via ATM but it can be done at the counter.

been using RHBBank for a while, i feel its interface is most 'bank-like' unlike mb2u everything-in-1 design. mozilla 1.5 user here & no browser compatibility, so far

good points abt RHB, response to customer messages very prompt, can setup scheduled monthly payment. never experienced any lag b4 on the site. never tried transferring to 3rd party yet, so no comment.

bad point is still using 6-digit PIN/password, although the lastest bankcard is an improvemnt in security.

Even though the bank is offering 24 hours Internet banking service, they will have daily scheduled maintenance; usually in the midnight or late midnight. BCB channel-e and Maybank2u are pretty good examples.

The HSBC security device is to tighten the security. I think it's a good selling point even though some may think it's tedious.

Why worry about the password when Alliance bank is already using GRID Toolbar that uses 2-factor authentication. Check it out from allianceonline. There's a link to dl that toolbar to use.

wow! actually i recently bought something from an ebayer. my transaction history shown as "I-FUNDS TRF TO:XXXXXXXXXXXXXX"

so from my seller end, it should read "I-FUNDS TRF From Mr XXX Acc# XXXXXXXXXXXXXX"?

conclusion, BCB 3rd party transfer is very secured against identity theft. those active LYNer traders must adopt BCB immediately rclxms.gif

Why worry about the password when Alliance bank is already using GRID Toolbar that uses 2-factor authentication. Check it out from allianceonline. There's a link to dl that toolbar to use.
*
The GRID AUTHENTICATOR is an enhanced browser add-on software that launches with your internet browser. Located as a toolbar, it confirms with indicators that you're accessing a genuine Alliance Bank website even before you log in. This prevents fraudulent websites from deceiving you into revealing your personal banking details

As part of the GRID's '2-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION', your existing allianceonline PIN and the hashed serial number of the PC's hard disk you choose to access allianceonline will be auto registered with us for identification. This exercise is scheduled to begin after 31 July 2006. More details will be coming your way soon.

I'm using the following online banking services:

- Citibank

Maybank2u ranks first on my list, while RHB Bank ranks the lowest, with untidy interfaces, lots of unfixed errors, browser compatibility issues etc.

been using RHBBank for a while, i feel its interface is most 'bank-like' unlike mb2u everything-in-1 design. mozilla 1.5 user here & no browser compatibility, so far

good points abt RHB, response to customer messages very prompt, can setup scheduled monthly payment. never experienced any lag b4 on the site. never tried transferring to 3rd party yet, so no comment.

bad point is still using 6-digit PIN/password, although the lastest bankcard is an improvemnt in security.

RHB is slow la... and now introduce dotcom card very ma fan, need to key in the pin number...

slow until got 1 time i pay bill 2 times (cos i keep clicking 'conform' many times due to slow response)
*
Speaking of RHB DotCom Card, is it really that secure? It was so frustrating trying to activate my DotCom Card.

I really feel their online banking system isn't user friendly enough. Lot's of areas for improvement.

Just want to share my frustations, usually I want to do some Internet banking during midnights on certain days. Found out that Maybank2u and BCB channel-e always down for maintenance at these hours. Service will resume after 2am or 3am.

For PB, I don't think that their Internet banking is 24 hours; till midnight only. At Maybank2u and BCB are still better in this sense.

its further protection against "conman-in-the-middle" trick. refer http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=321722&st=0 and lots more cases at lelong & ebay. using mb2u, seller only "sees" money coming in, but kenot verify from where. the mb2u receipt/screenshot can also be easily created/ photoshopped. scammers love mb2u tongue.gif

the thing about mb2u is their system too popular liao, their site always straining under heavy traffic, but usually operational at 1am - only 1 hr maintenance.

i wonder what activation problems u having? mine was quick & painless. now i hide all those dotcom numbers into a txt full of random generated numbers, incase i lose the card tongue.gif

like i said, i like RHB customer messaging system, u can ask all kinds of noob questions & they'll reply very promptly. y don't u try forwarding ur suggestions to help them improve. i mostly use RHB for paying bills. bills pending & bills payment history makes my easier.

There's pros and cons regarding this.

Pros is privacy issue is settled. Cons is you don't know where the money comes from.

Of course you need to apply for it. I'm not sure about Maybank but for BCB, you need to register and wait till they mail you the PIN. It was last time and I don't know now.

Refer back to my previous post back, AmBank has the least service charge!

RM0.50 per transaction for the first 2 transactions in a month, thereafter RM2.00

But I don't know why I was not charged for single cents on Interbank GIRO that I transferred few days ago.

The second is Alliance Bank which is RM1 flat rate per transaction.

But just like the old method, the force you to use the popup keypad. But now it's worse. IT's a pop-up keyboard!

The login method is quite similar to DiGi OCS on-screen numeric keypad.

Welcome to a new world of revealing passwords to onlookers!

Attached Image

I did a simple experiment with my colleagues: Silently stand behind me and guess what is my password.

3 out of 5 guessed it correctly. Unless I increased my mouse-clicks-per-second speed to 5 or accelate my mouse velocity to 100cm/s, it is relatively easy for onlookers to figure it out.

So, never login to Citibank online banking at places where you might be noticed.

True ... they should try to mimick DiGi OCS. The numeric keypad is randomly placed.

The latest login method assumes all alphabets are upper case. You don't have to option to mix upper and lower case characters in your password.

The previous PIN number method (using purely numbers only) did implement the number juggling approach. If I'm not mistaken, Citibank was actually the first to come up with this idea, followed by DiGi OCS.

I can almost picture the chaos that would happen if they jumble up the entire keyboard. Imagine a 40+ year old housewife who doesn't have much exposure in computers trying to frustratingly locate the alphabet 'A' over a miniature keyboard.

Better keep it this way for now.

To make it even more secure.

With the previous PIN number method, the PIN consist of 6 numbers. If someone were to use a brute force hacking method, by theory, you could guess it at most after 6 to the power of 10 tries (60,466,176).

Now, the new password requires at least 6 until 50 characters. Opening up the combination beyond the constraints of pure numbers, it would take eternity to hack one's password.

But then again, if someone attempts 3 consecutive login failures, wouldn't they automatically lock the account?

Your Username cannot contain your credit card or ATM card number
Your Username must contain at least one alphabet
Your Username must contain at least one number
Your Username must be at least 6 characters long but not exceeding 50 characters
Your Username cannot contain 3 or more identical characters in a row (e.g. "aaa101", "user999", "abbb10")
Your Username cannot contain 3 or more consecutive sequential characters (e.g. "abc007", "user123", "xx789xx")
QUOTE
8. Why is my chosen Password rejected?

i. Your new Password is the same as your old Password; OR

I've never entered wrong password/PIN numbers for any online banking system before, and hence, I can't give any testimonials.

Any volunteers here wishing to verify this?

i've locked out on mb2u, BCB, HLB, RHB bank - all for testing purposes. boy, some of them customer service ppl was a liitle pissed when i said i wanted to go on a vacation, so i locked my account for 10 days. LoL

just the usual verification data on the phone - name, new ICNo, old ICNo, acc#, mother's maiden name, primary school, secret answer...etc. takes about 10~30 mins to get up & going again. (this only applies if u still rmb the exact password - otherwise u need to go to ATM to reset PIN/password)

edit: yes, locked out means i exceeded the PIN/password attempts on purpose. i even asked the CS what happens if a keylogger gets hold of my username & keeps locking me out on purpose while they try to crack my password. the CS was not helpful with suggestions other than resetting everything - username and all at their main branch in person.

What are you trying to do? Are you asking the CS to lock all the accounts for 10 days due to your vacation? Can do so? Not bad?

But again, if your account is suspended due to the failure of entering the correct password, you'll be going for the quite similar process of verification.

So that I can't do a fund transfer at PB that is more than the limit that I have set. Somemore, I can't split the transaction into 2 transfers. They said the maximum amount must be equal to the transfer limit.

Besides, I can't increase the limit online and it needs to be done at the branch. That's so inconveniences. I prefer Maybank as they can do this online.

Anyone here tried Alliance Bank Interbank transfer before?

I was told by the bank that the require time for the recepient to receive the money is depend on the crediting bank. I asked if I transfer before the daily cut off time, will the beneficiary receive the money on the same day.

She answered me it depends on the crediting bank whether they have a lot of batches to be processed or not.. But she said the latest is 3 days...

Damn, where got such answer?

Even Maybank, Ambank etc write on their web that the benificiary will receive the money either on the same day or the next working day if the transfer is performed before the cut of time/ or after.

Sucx!

With that, Citibank customer service would have to put up with more "my account has been locked" problems. Good luck to them.

I'm fine with most except the "cannot have more than 3 consecutive characters" rule. It's the funniest rule i've ever seen in public websites and I don't understand how it helps citibank become more secure.

It's a way of ensuring users do not choose passwords that are too easy to crack. They probably did a historical finding on passwords that customers use, and many of them might have similar patterns.

anyway, i dont hv citibank account, but an example of simple & effective password would be MONDAY911DECEMBER or MON9DAY11. i always use two common dictionary words and join/break them with numbers. using BM or even other dialect/slang words would be a good choice too.

Nice way to come up with a password there.

In my case, I would spell a phrase (name, sentence, idiom) in Thai. Since the Thai character set uses both alpha and numeric sections of the keyboard, it would be hard to crack. And also conforms to the password policy.

anyone uses ocbc online banking before?
questions:
1. is there any extra fees?
2. how to apply?
3. what functions is available in the internet banking?
- can we set bpay? (direct debit to pay bills or manual pay to bills company)
- can we 'pay anyone'? (means to any account)
- can we transfer funds to and from fixed deposit?

havent used any internet banking in msia before, using westpac bank of melbourne internet banking and it's really good. There's this account call MaxIdirect with 5.26% annual interest - not fixed deposit, rather like a savings bank account where u can only transfer funds thru internet or phone banking. is there such account in any banks in msia?

% rate in Malaysia banks are very unattractive compared to OZ.

all the features u are looking for are offered at most online banks, except for "can we transfer funds to and from fixed deposit?" i know maybank allows online placement of FD and auto-debit on maturity. Hong Leong or BCB, dont allow this. sorry, no experience with OCBC.

in cases of emergency, u either collect the FD certificate at your home branch or ask the home branch (in case of different states) to courier it to u. online cancelling or withdrawal is not offered. (not sure about phone banking)

i advise ppl who apply online mb2u FD to opt for duration 1 month only to avoid all the hassles in cases of emergency.

1. The Internet banking is FREE. Certain transactions you make with the service is chargeable such as Inter-bank Fund Transfer.

2. You must apply Internet Banking via ATM machine by getting the first time login PIN.

3. For bill payments, you setup a profile and initiate the payment. I think it's directly linked to the payee's account.

For fund transfer, you can perform a fund transfer to any Maybank account holders for free. As for other banks, you'll be charged for RM2.

Not so sure regarding fixed deposit placement using Internet Banking.

Other services include mobile reloads, TT and etc.

As an added security measure, we will soon be introducing Transaction Authorization Code (TAC). TAC is a security code sent via SMS to your mobile phone. You will need to enter this security code when you make specific online transactions.

To activate this feature, all you need to do is register your mobile phone number at any CIMB Bank ATM. You will need to visit the ATM only once to enjoy our enhanced security feature.

Please register your mobile phone number at any CIMB Bank ATM by 22 September 2006.

When we do a fund transfer to other accounts, it requires an answer to secret questions. Is this still a need after the implementation of TAC?

I think it needs at least several days for clearance and you'll be charged RM2 for each inter-bank fund transfer.

Of course can. You can transfer to any in-house accounts or other banks' (inter-bank) accounts. The inter-bank fund transfer is subject to transaction fee.

I use BCB E-Channel to check my balance only, never did any transaction before.

But the most frequent one I use is RHB Online Banking. Never had any problem before. Transfering from RHB to Public takes few days, I think 1 or 2 days? Can't remember. But from Public to RHB wuah so slow. But if same bank then same day. Very fast. Did online reload for hotlink, celcom and digi before. Very gewd. Paid bills online. No problem. I'll continue using it yay! biggrin.gif

I use RHB online banking for few years oledi. Ogie, first, u have to set your pin at the ATM first. There's a button for online banking. After that, go online to the RHB Online Banking webbie, and click "First Time User" and key in some info.

Once you finish with dat, you click "Sign On" and key-in login name and password. Then you're gewd to go. Check balance, reload, pay bills, transfer money etc.

There's help under "Learn More" link or the "Demo"

Hope that answer ur Q biggrin.gif

Some banks offer a lower rate at RM1 and some offers free several (three or five) transfers. It depends on the particular bank itself.

If depends ... some banks need ATM card to get the first time login. Some needs ATM card to register your mobile phone number or to get TAC.

Does anyone uses Bank Simpanan National? It doesn't seem to be listed in the first page. I just got my new Matrix ATM card and it has this "Visa Electron" logo on it. I read somewhere that if your card has this logo, you can use it to buy stuffs from foreign sites.

It's the other way round. For instance, you failed to login into Internet banking and you definitely need to call the bank customer careline to resolve this. They may ask several questions regarding yourself for verification purpose before they reset your password.
