.....while RHB Bank ranks the lowest, with untidy interfaces, lots of unfixed errors, browser compatibility issues etc.
been using RHBBank for a while, i feel its interface is most 'bank-like' unlike mb2u everything-in-1 design. mozilla 1.5 user here & no browser compatibility, so far

good points abt RHB, response to customer messages very prompt, can setup scheduled monthly payment. never experienced any lag b4 on the site. never tried transferring to 3rd party yet, so no comment.

bad point is still using 6-digit PIN/password, although the lastest bankcard is an improvemnt in security.

any sellers & buyers here trading using BCB bank transfer? i've heard BCB system very good, it will list out the details of the transaction (name & acc# of sender) so seller can verify from which account the money really came from!?

http://forums.ebay.com.my/thread.jspa?thre...d=1154513854959

anyone here can confirm that? how abt the IC no rule? issit optional? anyone wanna try v me? i can transfer RM1 to-n-back with another forumer to test this feature.

wow! actually i recently bought something from an ebayer. my transaction history shown as "I-FUNDS TRF TO:XXXXXXXXXXXXXX"

so from my seller end, it should read "I-FUNDS TRF From Mr XXX Acc# XXXXXXXXXXXXXX"?

conclusion, BCB 3rd party transfer is very secured against identity theft. those active LYNer traders must adopt BCB immediately rclxms.gif

How you define "very secure"?
*
its further protection against "conman-in-the-middle" trick. refer http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=321722&st=0 and lots more cases at lelong & ebay. using mb2u, seller only "sees" money coming in, but kenot verify from where. the mb2u receipt/screenshot can also be easily created/ photoshopped. scammers love mb2u tongue.gif

the thing about mb2u is their system too popular liao, their site always straining under heavy traffic, but usually operational at 1am - only 1 hr maintenance.

QUOTE(sunbeams @ Aug 3 2006, 02:19 AM)
Speaking of RHB DotCom Card, is it really that secure? It was so frustrating trying to activate my DotCom Card.

I really feel their online banking system isn't user friendly enough. Lot's of areas for improvement.
*
i wonder what activation problems u having? mine was quick & painless. now i hide all those dotcom numbers into a txt full of random generated numbers, incase i lose the card tongue.gif

like i said, i like RHB customer messaging system, u can ask all kinds of noob questions & they'll reply very promptly. y don't u try forwarding ur suggestions to help them improve. i mostly use RHB for paying bills. bills pending & bills payment history makes my easier.

The GRID AUTHENTICATOR is an enhanced browser add-on software......

As part of the GRID's '2-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION', your existing allianceonline PIN and the hashed serial number of the PC's hard disk you choose to access allianceonline will be auto registered with us for identification. ......
i'm curious abt this GRID AUTHENTICATOR. i'm no alliancebank customer but "..hashed serial number of the PC's hard disk .." u mean their customer can only access if their using an authenticated PC? what happens if they access at office, fren's PC or laptop???

'future fund transfer' & 'fund transfer history' are not implemented well. 'future fund transfer' also have no receipt.

"Future Funds Transfer History" <- if this is not a little confusing, then i dunno what is tongue.gif

So, never login to Citibank online banking at places where you might be noticed.

haha, mb its best we do our online banking after working hours on our own pcs with our backs against the wall tongue.gif

y don't they jumble up the keys & position? its not like customers need to 'type' in qwerty format or anything? send ur post to citibank CS and wait for the reaction.

i'm quessing its case-insensitive!?

i've locked out on mb2u, BCB, HLB, RHB bank - all for testing purposes. boy, some of them customer service ppl was a liitle pissed when i said i wanted to go on a vacation, so i locked my account for 10 days. LoL

just the usual verification data on the phone - name, new ICNo, old ICNo, acc#, mother's maiden name, primary school, secret answer...etc. takes about 10~30 mins to get up & going again. (this only applies if u still rmb the exact password - otherwise u need to go to ATM to reset PIN/password)

edit: yes, locked out means i exceeded the PIN/password attempts on purpose. i even asked the CS what happens if a keylogger gets hold of my username & keeps locking me out on purpose while they try to crack my password. the CS was not helpful with suggestions other than resetting everything - username and all at their main branch in person.

hmm, i tot my impractical 50-char alphanumeric username & password were good enough to fit the rules tongue.gif

anyway, i dont hv citibank account, but an example of simple & effective password would be MONDAY911DECEMBER or MON9DAY11. i always use two common dictionary words and join/break them with numbers. using BM or even other dialect/slang words would be a good choice too.

% rate in Malaysia banks are very unattractive compared to OZ.

all the features u are looking for are offered at most online banks, except for "can we transfer funds to and from fixed deposit?" i know maybank allows online placement of FD and auto-debit on maturity. Hong Leong or BCB, dont allow this. sorry, no experience with OCBC.

in cases of emergency, u either collect the FD certificate at your home branch or ask the home branch (in case of different states) to courier it to u. online cancelling or withdrawal is not offered. (not sure about phone banking)

i advise ppl who apply online mb2u FD to opt for duration 1 month only to avoid all the hassles in cases of emergency.

when it comes to online banking, doesn't the weakest link of their security system lies in the average customers & the PCs they use to login? so best security is an informed & vigilant online customer tongue.gif

As an added security measure, we will soon be introducing Transaction Authorization Code (TAC). TAC is a security code sent via SMS to your mobile phone. You will need to enter this security code when you make specific online transactions.

To activate this feature, all you need to do is register your mobile phone number at any CIMB Bank ATM. You will need to visit the ATM only once to enjoy our enhanced security feature.

Please register your mobile phone number at any CIMB Bank ATM by 22 September 2006.
hm, BCB online is shaping up pretty good.
