Using Public Bank now. To pay my streamyx bill. So far no problem. We need to change password every few months. This is what i dont like.
*
That's the cumbersome part. Well, they're trying to impose a good password practice to all the users.

maybank2u.com.my is the most popular, well-established internet banking in Malaysia in term of local banks. Others may need a lot of catching up to do. sweat.gif

the best thing....IT IS FREE

Internet banking FREE for almost every bank.

The only charge for certain bank services; for instance, GIRO interbank fund transfer will be RM2. Standard price.

Which online banking shows who send u the $$$$? i mean where the $$$ come from?
which bank?
*
I don't think you can trace that.

Maybe you can trace back the transaction for the account number from the same bank. Interbank fund transfer might be harder to do so.

Hey why don't have AllianceBank in your list?
https://www.multilink.com.my/

I use it for paying bills, transferring, etc.  Very good, except can't pay water bill, don't know why.

Others I use is Citibank, HSBC, just for the credit card accounts.
*
I assumed you're referring to SYABAS water bill since I saw your location is in Pudu. Well, PB can.

I can't pay my Perbadanan Air Melaka (PAM) Water neither with Maybank2u, PB nor BCB.

You can ask the customer service receptionist to reset your password. They prompt you some questions for verification purposes. Answer them, they reset it for you. After you need to go to the ATM machine and get the new access PIN.

You can open a JSA with your parents (under your parents' name) and then enable the Internet banking.

Is Maybank the best online banking bank?
*
In terms of bill payment, it's superior.

In terms of fund transfer, it's quite secure as you need a TAC to proceed.

You can set maximum credit limit for the above 2 items such RM1k, 2k or 3k.

I just registered a HSBC e-banking account, would to ask, can i transfer $$ to other bank like maybank... did any charge apply?
edit: i found it, it can transfer to other acc but does it charge $$.
*
Usually, there's no charge to transfer money to accounts within the SAME bank.

For a transfer to OTHER banks, a RM2 charge is imposed for processing and it takes 2 to 3 days for the transaction to be completed.

Im using Maybank2u and PBE ones.
Using HSBC (Aus) too, but not sure if its the same as HSBC (Msia).

Most ppl are using Maybank2u.
Will be great if Maybank2u can allow ppl to enter a transaction description.
And if charge less for Interbank transfer even better. Haha tongue.gif

ps: Hahaha, is that McD the one nxt to Vic mart? tongue.gif
*
The interbank transaction service charge is fixed at the same price tag for all the banks (local) in Malaysia under the GIRO scheme.

I think the most important part for ebank is security......The most appealing for maybank2u is TAC . It provide more security, i dont think other banks provide, sorry if it is. I only use maybank2u. If the bank does not provide security such as TAC ..i can easily put a trojan at my fren comp or any public comp to extract passpword for ebanking and mail back to me.... without TAC i easily can steal others money...dont u think so?
*
For BCB, if your want to do a fund transfer you need to key in the answer for the secret question.

For PB and Maybank, there's a transaction limit for fund transfer. BCB doesn't have. Another plus point for Maybank will be a transaction limit for bills payment.

All these TAC and set transaction limit are considered as security matter. Provides another layer of security.

I only use my PC at work and at home to access e-banking. So, I doubt you can hack my passwords. Therefore, no security problems even without TAC.
*
It depends on the encryption algorithm they implemented and the strength (keyspace) of the password (authenticiation method based on something you know).

QUOTE(loui @ Nov 9 2005, 06:36 PM)
I am a public bank account user. Just screened through the website, didn't mention what to bring along if want to apply e-banking.

It just shows that I need to do it in the bank itself(quite troublesome, thought that application can be done with internet)...

I left my bank book(the small book, not sure what it call) in my hometown, so could I just ask my parents to do it for me(apply for e-banking), or my present and signature is required?
*
For PB, you need to apply at the PB branch.

For Maybank and BCB, you can or need to do it on your own at the ATM machine to get the first time login PIN.
