Dear all,

i want to activate my new card via sms

But it ask me key in cardact

may i know what is cardact?

thank you
*
Have you read the activation method in the letter? i believe the instruction is quite clear. sms is not economical coz u still need to pay 30sen. activation via email is FOC anyway. Again, read the letter for instruction.

Added on September 1, 2010, 10:20 amI decided to apply for an OCBC Titanium through a card agent. It feels good to help ppl make money (while I don't need to pay a cent)

Alliance - access to KLIA no limit.
Citibank Premier Miles - worldwide airport lounge twice a year (saw thier website need to apply before hand).

Apart from KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge, you may include other major airport lounges in Malaysia such as Plaza Premium Lounge in LCCT and JB. Most of the Platinum cards issued in Malaysia can only grant free access to KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge only, not the lounges in LCCT and JB.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Sep 1 2010, 12:31 AM)
haha, anyway do you know which card issued in Malaysia allows one access to airport lounges worldwide?
*
SCB VI through Priority Pass and Amex Platinum charged card at most of the lounges worldwide.

plus probably late payment charges for nt settling minimum monthly amount which shud be 5%

correct?

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I've tried to calculate it but I can't get the same amount as the bank. Could anybody guide me how banks calculate their interest charges? Attached is a shot of my friend statement. Note that the first amount is RM12233.39 which is the previous month balance. Below it is the late payment charge and then its the interest charge. Total up is RM12458.76. I would like to know how the RM186.67 is calculated. Sorry for the grainy picture because my friend faxed his statement to me. Thank you. notworthy.gif

On the topic of Airport Lounge access, I think we should be clear on the following:

Citi Premiermiles gives access to Plaza Premier lounge at KLIA 12 times a year PLUS the Priority Pass with 2 free admissions worldwide (subsequent need to pay). PP is for principal ONLY.

SCB VI gives Priority Pass membership with unlimited free admissions for principal ONLY.

For HSBC Premier, refer to the following site: http://www.privileges.hsbcpremier.com/1/2/...ort-lounge-info

“The price war has also spilled over to credit cards, with offers to absorb the government annual service tax. This was previously borne by card holders,” said an analyst from UOB KayHian.

Anybody knows which credit cards can absorb the RM50 government tax? I mean unconditionally, without needing to spend a certain amount or using reward points.

Yes. That is true as the minimum per annum salary required is RM48,000.
Standard Chartered Bank.
You need to earn at least RM12,500/month to qualify for the HSBC VISA Platinum, not RM10,000/month. Anyway, if you intend to use an existing Platinum credit card that is more than 1 year old. The card must comes with a minimum credit limit of RM30,000. Even if you meet their VISA Platinum requirements, there is still no guarantee that you will get it as everyone knows it is hard to get a HSBC credit card.

Thanks for the info!

I see so its the credit limit that helps you when you switch cards.

I guess I'll apply for SCB plat and see what happens. 188 cash back looks good.

I applied using my Amex Gold CC but don't think they accept Amex?

But I'm curious why they state in their sms saying "please submit document 1. latest 3 mths payslips or copy of credit card (not american express)"?
I called their helpline to check my status is "pending document"...

Seems like I don't have choice... should I just ignore this or call them and ask them to accept my Amex CC copy...
