Seems like I don't have choice... should I just ignore this or call them and ask them to accept my Amex CC copy...

Is the AMEX CC less than a year old?

Why not? AMEX Gold CC is also a credit card.
*
I could be wrong, but could it be that AMEX is a charge card and not a credit card? So they take it that you do not have any existing limit therefore they treat it as a new credit application?

Anybody knows which credit cards can absorb the RM50 government tax? I mean unconditionally, without needing to spend a certain amount or using reward points.
*
Credit card is a business. If you are a high spender, any banks will be more than willing to pay your govt tax & annual fees. Otherwise, it would be limited to selected banks such as Bank Rakyat etc tongue.gif

When you apply for a new card and enclose information on an existing owned card, what can the applied bank see from the existing card? Brief info like credit limit, or detailed info like transactions, payments, etc?

I guess Credit Limit and how clean your record is when using the CC.
They won't see detailed transactions.

Not sure about OCBC but certain banks do not call for verification. For instance, HSBC and Maybank.

They will be able to see how many active credit cards you have, the credit limit of each of the active credit cards, any mortgage or hire purchase and any missed payments in the past 12 months etc.

Is it possible that Bank Negara and all the banks exchange customers credit info with each other? My friend bought Sukuk recently and he started getting kad raya from the Kementerian Perdagangan Antarabangsa as well as other Govt depts which he never did before.
