Right move! Let your money earn a little bit of interest for 2 more months in the bank.

I even think of doing BT in December since the card offers 0% interest and no handling fee for BT until 31/12.

i'm curious why would standard chartered ruin the exclusivity of world mastercard by imposing a relatively low requirement for it as compared to cimb / da / mbf's RM 200k per annum income or maybank's RM 240k per annum income.

Actually the card is pretty normal. The benefits offered are even less than the SCB Platinum cc. However, the redemption promotion is good. I have just redeemed a Samsonite X Blade for only 54,000 choice points compared to normal requirement of 176,000 choice points.

Make sure you calculate correctly... just use the nearest RM to calculate the rebate.
i.e. Spend RM150.95 --> RM150 * 5%
i.e. Spend RM150.05 --> RM150 * 5%
*
If Carrefour is 5%, then this is the only other possibility:

1% Klinik
1% Insurance
1% Secret Recipe
1% TMOnline
1% TNB Pay at Kedai Tenaga
5% Carrefour Tropicana
5% Giant Kelana Jaya
5% Petrol (BHP)
5% Pizza Hut
5% TNB Pay through OCBC online

lara_: If you don't mind, maybe you can list the amount you paid for each of these transactions and the actual total 1% & 5% rebate received for us assist in calculating.

Since there are 2 cases here, maybe only Carrefour in Tropicana are entitled for 1%.

Can I know which telco network you are on? I am with Maxis and I have never received any such calls although I get tons of spam from clubs regarding their special promos on drinks. Maybe one or more of the telcos had a breach in security and leaked out their customer's numbers.

Leak does not necessarily come from the telcos.
It is basically someone sold the contact information to a 3rd party. Sometimes the contact are also being passed around between these people and that explains why sometimes their "information" about your credit card is rather outdated.

Malaysia does not have a law to prohibit selling of your private information to a 3rd party. If this happens somewhere else then sure kenna one.

I applied for SCB Platinum mastercard sometime in Sept because of the RM188 cash back deal and two years annual fee waived. However today I received two Platinum cards. Can I call the customer service to terminate one of the card and get the GST RM50 cancell?

Or anybody knows if we are having RM188 cash back for both cards..

If SCB really practice this policy then it is very strange.
You can cancel the card anytime ... the reason why people say it is 6 months it is because to allow the agent to earn the commission.

Call the SCB CS and check if there's a credit balance in the account of both cards. This how I verify before using it.
