It's normal if you have a HSBC Amanah card and you have balance in it (you do not pay off the entire amount every month). It is just the Islamic banking term for finance charges.

On another note, MBB is now giving me a conflicting statement. Have an email stating MBB Petronas Platinum Visa qualifies for 2x treatpoints for overseas transactions (a MBB Platinum Privilege feature), and now a phone call to them to claim "missing" points is being rejected on the basis that the card does not qualify.

Arghhhh!

cash advance charges an additional upfront charge in addition to interest of 1.5% per month on cash advance and unpaid balance calculated daily from transaction date.

Advice: never do cash advance and pay off your statement balance every month to avoid increasing charges

just apply PBB esso in branch

the card actually seem useless

no more welcome gift which mean the GST is not able to waive it

8% rebate only applicable when u pump petrol more than rm800 per month

max cap rm80 per month = rm1000 on petrol

pump around rm300 only 2% rebate which cant even beat shell gold by citibank....

but the good part is principal + supp card can be combined together in order to achieve rm800

which my fren n i can hit the target hahaha....

Hi,

Am asking on behalf of my sister. She's using CIMB Classic Mastercard, and this morning she viewed her CC account online. Her CC's limit is RM6k, current usage is at RM820+, however in the statement it states that her available credit balance is RM4200. She asked me why is it so, when her CL should be RM6k. hopefully someone could answer this on behalf of myself..thanks in advance.

to answer your questions:

1) Nope, that's her CL since the very beginning
2) Don't think so. Will check back with her tonight

alexwsk:

1) From what I can see in the transaction record, all petrol transaction is already recorded in the online transaction(up to petrol refuelling on the 1st Oct).

My application for HSBC Visa has been approved since 13th Sept and up to today only I receive the letter regarding my pin no. but it is stated that the CC will be delivered to me in 7 working days separately for security. Why is it so slow? Almost one mth dy (including the working days). Sigh!

RM200 will hold for 8 days from the date of the transaction. Even after that particular petrol transaction already posted in the statement, the amount will still put on hold.

Different banks, different policies. Plus it also depends on the petrol station who does the cc posting. Sometimes they wait till a few days for the posting. For MBB, likely the petrol station did the posting on the same day. (I have a friend who showed me how does MBB transactions can be posted on the same day coz he got a MBB cc terminal)

I got a question for everyone who ask the question about the holding period - does it really matter ?
1. Eventually the credit limit will be normalized.
2. The bank will charge the actual amount of petrol pumped into your car. I have never come across any claims that banks charge the users the RM200 instead of the actual amount.
