Normally autopay for TNB will take effect within a month if you apply for it at Kedai Tenaga.

The TNB guy told me so. Last time using autopay through AMEX is faster.

Since OCBC Titanium Mastercard is the hottest card in the town at the moment, decided to post
my status on the card application as well.
27/8 Submitted application to OCBC Branch
28/9 Card is approved (status known after calling automated Customer Service)

One month for the application to be approved ........ yawn.gif
And I wonder how long will it takes for the card to arrive my mailbox ......

Should receive a few days after they have sent it out to you. You can call their CS to check when the card was despatched.

Just had a quick look at the T&Cs available here (link to PDF) for this new PB-Esso Mobil Visa Gold Credit Card.
Seems to be a good card to complement OCBC's Titanium Mastercard for those whose fuel expenses alone average RM500.00-800.00 (where you get 3.0% cash rebate (plus additional 3% for a total of 6% until 31 March 2011). Wef  1 April 2011, the additional 3.0% disappears...

AND for those who don't already hold a Citibank Cashback Platinum CC. I suppose very few forumers here spend in excess of RM1200.00 on fuel alone per month (RM600.00 max fuel rebate for Citibank and OCBC (subject to verification - as pointed out by ck_tonny, the OCBC savings calculator for fuel maxes out at RM600.00).
Total Monthly Retail Purchase at Esso or Mobil Service Stations (RM)

Cash Rebate Tier (%)
< = 100  0.5
>100 - 200  1.0
>200 - 500  2.0
>500 - 800  3.0
>800  5.0

Note that the maximum cash rebate amount for PB-Esso Mobil Visa Gold CC is RM50.00 per month for fuel.

Many of us do not think CIMB WMC is the best cc in the market. As you are so tempted and fall for this card, just go for it.
Everyone has different lifestyle. Therefore there is no real best credit card in the market with the exception of OCBC Bank MasterCard Titanium of course. It just so happens that this particular card fits my needs perfectly which is why i am so keen on it. It is also the reason why question such as "what is the best credit card" is usually ignored on this board.

Who can use that amount of petrol within a month? sweat.gif
It is still very hard to achieve even after combining all my family members' petrol consumption.

Why strive so hard to earn that 5%? An OCBC Titanium will do. thumbup.gif

U may apply if the OCBC RM50 cash back per month is not enough for you.
Just use that card for Esso petrol for your all family members.

Many of us do not think CIMB WMC is the best cc in the market. As you are so tempted and fall for this card, just go for it. You may reapply for it a few months later. They have your data in their computer system showing the rejection, so it is not advisable to apply again within a short period. Next time, you may consider applying for DA WMC and they will generally welcome you if you can give them a copy of your degree certificate. Good luck.

Maybe if you are a sales/marketing person and need to travel by car a lot or company provides you a car or even petrol allowance.

Agree. This card already combine the benefits of most of the cards (more or less). Looks like Titanium cards are very good. Wonder will it stop issuing some day like SCB Justone.

If OCBC can offer GST offset (RM50 rebate) by swiping 3 times within 60 days (like some banks do) is even better. Haha...Hopefully next year they have great promotions:)

Payonline website does allow you to pay bill online but currently whether it is 5% or 1% is still not sure yet. Maybe next month we can get some clarification as more and more people are getting the card approved this month.
But for some bills like TM or digi, auto billing gives you more discount.

Mm...that is for next year GST offset but it's already very good. So basically if you fully get all the rebates for the first month, you are getting RM70 actually, that would be spending RM4k. Not many people will get the full benefit from it. Furthermore, most people are holding more than 1 card.
Even for some restaurants, many cards may have promotions for 15%, 25% or even 50%. Sure you will use that card instead of this card. This card is very good for restaurants that is not having any promotion by cc.

That is so true ! Anyway, have not heard from them yet regarding my card application. Going to call them this Friday if still no update from them. Worst case scenario ? Pledge a few thousands to get the card.

As for the CIMB Bank World MasterCard, i have to wait until my fixed deposit matures which i renewed for 60-month in 2007 before i can finally transfer some to CIMB Bank. Interest rate for 60-month fixed deposit was high then and the interest payout frequency is on a monthly basis. The huge interest rate cut in 2009 had no impact on this particular fixed deposit account of mine at all tongue.gif

By the way, CIMB Bank has also partnered many restaurants that give 10% - 20% off total bill if you pay using their card. HSBC has many such promotions too but CIMB Bank has even more such partner restaurants.

Oh, and the bonus points required to redeem for shopping voucher is the lowest among all the banks in Malaysia too  thumbup.gif

blush.gif This is going to sound silly but ....

Do I just need to silently hand the restaurant cashier the DA/CIMB card and the 10-20% discount off the total bill will automatically be given? Or do I need to inform the cashier that his restaurant offers discount to DA/CIMB card holders?

U better check it.

Nah, my application was declined. I received the "you are not succesful" letter less than 10 days after I submit my application. I tried to get the agent to find out the reason. She said she'll try but since then she has not called me or answered my calls.

It is better to inquire the cashier or captain in advance.
However, Dragon-i and Canton-i has got a lot of CIMB/DA cardmembers dining there, I assume the cashiers are quite experienced already.

You're welcome.
As a CIMB/DA cardmember you also get to stretch your payment for insurance/hospital/education bills to 10 months at totally zero interest and zero handling fee. My parent just swiped a few k in a hospital recently. This installment plan is quite a relief for tight cash flow.
