Guys,

For OCBC Titanium application using FD, Do we need to go ourself to get the stamp duty? Or just pay to the bank and they will get it settle. Anyone knows?

Bcos just now the bank agent called me up after a week, and asking me to come and collect the agreement back and go to the Lembaga hasil to get it stamp. All this while is his mistake because he forgot about the stamp duty and only realize it by today.

Sigh....

They are supposed to do it for you. The guy just wanted to cover his mistake and asking you to do it.
If I were you, I will take back my FD and ask another branch to do it for me or ask to speak to his superior about this mistake.

End story up to you but do realize the hassle to get that Setem Hasil.

I doubt the approval is done at the back room, as per my case, I went back to the card centre after 50 minutes, the lady there ask for my NRIC again and keyed in to the system and said, " ya, your card is ready". Then she walk in to the "back room" and came out around 10 minutes with the cards..

I think the back room is to prepare the cards only...

correct loh... I went with my dad yesterday... confirm they have to process at the HQ damansara (11am till 5pm only) the girl said and pavillion only process the card nia.. so no matter you tell the staff you work for your dad or you have a million also useless lo because they only submit the application only le... approve or not still up to the damansara team wo...

my dad got the card in 50minute but no free gift... she said out of stock vmad.gif

You don't need to have a premium card like CIMB WMC to enjoy these benefits. Any CIMB/DA Platninum or Gold card can also give what you desire above all.
Yeah. I do need CIMB WMC. How so ? Because it's the only CIMB Bank MasterCard to give 2x bonus point for all transactions transacted in foreign currency. There are also promotions that only CIMB WMC are entitled for. That's not all, there are also promotions that CIMB WMC gets higher rebate. For instance, 15% off at the chocolate shop at KLIA versus 10% for all other CIMB MasterCards. A difference of a mere 5% might not seem huge but this won't be the case if you buy a lot. With the RM50 credit card service tax still in effect, of course i am after the best overall card and CIMB WMC fits my needs perfectly.

RHB Islamic just launched their new credit card-i(Gold & Platinum)
By the way, minimum credit limit for RHB Visa Infinite only RM100,000. Few of my fiends get invitation from RHB for this card as their current RHB credit card limit are RM100,000.
However, RHB Visa Infinite card did not open for public to apply. It is by invitation only. If not, going to apply one because the card design is cool.....

For most people might fall under category 2% or 3% with additional 3% during promotion.
Unless you always use the car in your work, otherwise not really worth it. I'll stick with the existing cards with flat 5% regardless of spending tier. I think PB always like to have cash rebate tier in their promotion.

Just had a quick look at the T&Cs available here (link to PDF) for this new PB-Esso Mobil Visa Gold Credit Card.

QUOTE
*Up to 8% cash rebate on on fuel and non-fuel purchase at Esso or Mobil service stations as per stipulated in the table + additional 3% cash rebate on top of the tier. The maximum cash rebate is RM80 per month. Promotion valid till 31 March 2011.  Effective 1 April 2011, you will continue to enjoy up to 5% cash rebate on fuel and non-fuel purchase at Esso or Mobil service stations. The maximum cash rebate is RM50 per month.

Unlimited Cash MegaBonus of 0.5% for other retail purchase excludes transaction at casino and petrol stations, cash advance, balance transfer, government-related payment, payment to charity and utility bills payment via www.pbebank.com, PB Telebanking and ATM.

Seems to be a good card to complement OCBC's Titanium Mastercard for those whose fuel expenses alone average RM500.00-800.00 (where you get 3.0% cash rebate (plus additional 3.0% for a total of 6.0% until 31 March 2011). Wef 1 April 2011, the additional 3.0% disappears...

AND for those who don't already hold a Citibank Cashback Platinum CC. I suppose very few forumers here spend in excess of RM1200.00 on fuel alone per month (RM600.00 max fuel rebate for Citibank and OCBC (subject to verification - as pointed out by ck_tonny, the OCBC savings calculator for fuel maxes out at RM600.00).

Total Monthly Retail Purchase at Esso or Mobil Service Stations (RM)

Cash Rebate Tier (%)
< = 100 0.5
>100 - 200 1.0
>200 - 500 2.0
>500 - 800 3.0
>800 5.0

Note that the maximum cash rebate amount for PB-Esso Mobil Visa Gold CC is RM50.00 per month for fuel (insert: wef 1 April 2011 - for the promotion period from now till 31 March 2011, the max cash rebate is RM80.00).

Holders of DA/CIMB card with (current) 2.0% fuel rebate and AMEX Gold CC with 5x MR points (2.5% equivalent in RM) will have to decide whether the RM50.00 service tax can be offset from fuel rebates gained through this card. Needless to say, there are many calculating gurus in this thread who can contribute on this point.

I am a former long time Shell petrol user who recently converted to Esso/Mobil (I personally find the current Esso fuel formulation to have more or less the same fuel economy but much better acceleration (power delivery) and lower engine noise (smoothness), for RON95). Driving a fuel-guzzling KIA Spectra 1.6 Auto! Anyway, there is a separate thread for fuel consumption somewhere in this forum.

Also, Bonuslink points are nothing as compared with the RM15 for every RM1000 spend earned with the Smiles loyalty card (equivalent to 1.5% cashback which you get on top of credit card swap rebates/points).

due to failure to obtain OCBC Ti, i applied for HSBC Visa Classic, which just got approved today. I only knw tat HSBC has a lot of discounts in West Msia but nt East Msia, I'm at East Msia so it's like the cons. I applied coz it's like international. I stil gonna try apply for OCBC Ti. Plan to get 1 mastercard n 1 visa. Anyone got any feedback regarding HSBC Visa Classic or OCBC Visa Gold? or which bank's visa card offers more benefits?

In terms of privileges or benefits, almost all banks are actually catching up with HSBC. In fact their service sux and until I received my replacement card, which is supposedly to be delivered via courier, I still say their service sux. More banks are coming up with a better and competitive privileges than HSBC. Eg would be Citibank and even local banks card.

My story of bad customer service experience from HSBC credit card, if you are interested. Just worry you'll stuck in this loop like me sad.gif

There is a lot of local cc issuers who uses Poslaju as the courier service. Why? Simple, they are the cheapest in town and they also offer a facility where only you can collect the card. (Recipient name need to match their record and cannot use 3rd party to collect)

While I do agree HSBC service has gone down slight as compared to before but perhaps the problem lie with the courier provider as well. Contrary ... my experience with HSBC has been positive but I have cancelled this card a few years ago as their promotion are limited as compared to other cc providers. (I cancelled around the time where there were news that they let go of a lot of CS in Malaysia)

To be fair, I have had my share of horror stories in the past with cc issuers and both local and foreign banks are culprits. However, I would acknowledge that the experience would differ from person to person as the level of personal expectations and tolerance differs.

If I am asked what is the card to avoid - AEON
* Myself lost money when they refuse to acknowledge a payment which I have made to them. (Lucky is it just a small amount) Checked with my friends and a few of them encountered the same thing. I will never return to this card ever!

The problem now is they are using normal mail instead of cheapest courier service in town. And what I'm pissed off is the CS keep asking me to wait and call wait and call, until after one month ask me to get another card when my refund is in process.

I have to disagree with you. Prefer to receive my cards (and anything else) by normal post. Courier is more secure but it's too much hassle to wait in person for the courier, especially since I'm staying alone. The best solution will be Post Express - don't have to receive it in person yet it is a registered mail.

For others, normally will call u after few times failed to reach u.

Thanks for the info.

Looks like OCBC doesn't want my business. Had an unpleasant experience with the staff who I contacted for my appeal. In the future, I won't deposit a single sen in this bank sad.gif

My first choice now is DA, followed by You.nique. PB's Esso credit card doesn't appeal to me, though I might get the debit card since it's free for life.

Last week someone mentioned about using payonline to pay bill like TNB, did anyone try before and shown in their statement as 5% rebate?

The Autopay is going to take effective only in 2 months (Not sure why so slow for TNB), so in the meantime I don't wanna go to the TNB and pay. Troublesome and somemore need to find parking bay. Just wondering whether the payonline works for OCBC Ti or not.

Btw, anyone manage to use OCBC Ti to pay for the Indah Water? As I see the payment method provided by IWK, OCBC is not in the list.

Besides, anyone knows what are the example for Computer Network/Information Services category and Wholesale Trade - Durable Goods category?

Many of us do not think CIMB WMC is the best cc in the market. As you are so tempted and fall for this card, just go for it. You may reapply for it a few months later. They have your data in their computer system showing the rejection, so it is not advisable to apply again within a short period. Next time, you may consider applying for DA WMC and they will generally welcome you if you can give them a copy of your degree certificate. Good luck.

Normally autopay for TNB will take effect within a month if you apply for it at Kedai Tenaga.
