I realize that there are some dirty white lines on the left hand side of my MacBook Pro's trackpad. Clearly remember that these lines weren't there in the afternoon and I'm pretty sure that I didn't scratch it but I just can't wipe them off. Anyone experienced this before? Anything which I can get to polish it? Sigh, damn sad...

i think it is due to your watch? buy Moshi Palmguard biggrin.gif

Do you mean both MBA and Dell unable to connect or only MBA have problem?
Weird, because I found out that Macs are much easier to connect the WiFi AP compared to PCs... Its like plug and play...

Also, try using Google Chrome browser... It seems to be faster than Safari... tongue.gif

using chrome now.. dont like safari.. dunno why.. alternatively.. use firefox bcoz wanna use the download'em all..

u have a few options

1) use SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner to clone ur current hdd to the new one, then swap. the new hdd will be exactly like the old one, juz bigger smile.gif

2) u can Restore ur current hdd to the new hdd too, using Disk Utility but need to boot from the OSX dvd

3) *if u have a time machine backup* install the new hdd, boot from OSX dvd n restore from time machine drive

i would recommend hitachi travelstar 7k500 500gb (~rm220) or faster seagate momentus XT 500gb (~rm460) hybrid drive. i bought the latter and will be upgrading tonight using method (3) bcuz only my time machine drive has a firewire800 port tongue.gif

try using time machine. i've did an upgrade on my macbook recently and it's painless. it's so easy as mentioned by dvlzplayground. if u useSuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner, it's a paid software. if u don't have time machine back up yet, now is the time to do. just do a time machine back up on your ext hdd (u need to format it to hfs), then once u've install the new drive, just put in the os x dvd, boot, then do a restore. it will restore everything just like before on your previous hdd. no need to reinstall all the software.

Check everything is stated on the box is inside the box.
Turn it on on the spot, just in case dead on arrival.
Try charging the batteries to check if it is working or not.

Hope this helps biggrin.gif

can you do a review about the momentus xt after used it, say for like 1 week?

the spin down issue with firmware sd22 is stopping me from buying one. the new sd23 otherwise settles the spin down issue, but i'm concern about the battery life.

thanks

hey guys. thanks alot for the feedback. really appreciate it. notworthy.gif for the hdd that you have recommended, its 500gb, but im looking to upgrade to 1gb considering the price is quite reasonable lately. i think with the right ratio of ram, the computer shud handle it just fine right?

I'm not sure about that. But my friend was very unlucky when he got his mbp, when he unboxed it, he realised the "D" key had fall off the keyboard, then he called Apple Care for a exchange, Apple came to his house to pick up the mbp and after few days later he got another new one, then after 1 day, the "G" key fall off. *Really unlucky*
