QUOTE(miaka_tama @ Aug 8 2010, 12:34 PM) hey guys.. - antiglare screen protector if u cannot stand the glarecan u advise wat r the must-get accessories to hav for mbp? jus wana protect it well.. tq.. - palmrest protector if u wear metal watch / sweat a lot. try moshi palmguard - keyboard protector is a must if u eat/smoke in front of ur mbp. silicone types attract dust n too 'smooth' to type, can try moshi clearguard - invisible shield / speck casing to protect against scratches - a good, padded laptop bag - kensington lock, make sure it's easy to use n carry. else u wont use it - not an accessory, but i'll recommend anyway: applecare protection plan |

QUOTE(miaka_tama @ Aug 8 2010, 01:35 PM) the mbp originally comes with 1 yr ACPP rite? yes it comes with 1 year warranty. however, phone support is only for 90 daysCan i buy more when the 1 yr is up? Sorry, am not so sure about the warranty thingie.. you can buy ACPP to extend your warranty another two years, but you must activate within the 1 year warranty. if your 1 yr warranty is up, you're not eligible for the extended warranty anymore if u plan to get one, better buy from apple online store or any resellers, which come with the box and everything. there are people selling ACPP in forums etc but it's hard to know whether they're genuine or not |

QUOTE(llsphinxll @ Aug 9 2010, 08:39 AM) hey guys kinda noob question here. is there any 3gb ddr3 sodimm? i thought the 3gb modules are only for desktopi plan to upgrade the ram of my mbp 15" early 09 model. think it is using 2x1gb ddr3 1066mhz currently. wud it b ok if i were to upgrade it to 2x2gb/3gb ddr3 1333mhz or 1600mhz? u can get the faster ones but it will be downclocked to 1067mhz, so no point paying for premium price. go for 2+4gb lah |

^ ur MBP has an LED backlit display. im not sure how long is the lifespan but it's really really really long. dun worry about it
ur Dell (and older macbooks) was using CCFL tech, which gets worse after a lot of usage. my 1.5 year old led-backlit mbp is as bright as a new unit This post has been edited by dvlzplayground: Aug 11 2010, 04:22 PM |

QUOTE(Mickeyhon @ Aug 11 2010, 07:14 PM) sorry..macbook pro newbie here... i would suggest u get either 1 of these apps: appzapper, cleanapp or cleanmymaci wan to ask how to uninstall Application in Macbook pro ? issit jz move to trash ? because sometimes the move to trash method will still leave some residue files (e.g. preferences settings). by using either 3 apps it'll get rid of those stuff as well QUOTE(#Fly @ Aug 11 2010, 07:32 PM) Hi guys, any thoughts on the MacBook on whether it can be a replacement for home use? MSN, Youtube/Facebook, and also wondering if it's suitable for video editing + music production (GarageBand i believe?). I'm on a low budget, and RM3659 (upgrade to 4gb ram) is reasonable to me. the decision either to upgrade ur PC or get a mac is best decided by urself I'm actually not sure whether a few hundred ringgit over the Mac Mini is worth the portability of the Macbook.. I don't really go out alot, but the portability would help sometimes.. Mac sifus please help me! |

QUOTE(LYW @ Aug 12 2010, 08:26 PM) practically useless, no offence if u ask me. that link was about battery calibration. how is that useless? I usually have 1 bar brightness only, yeah, mentally makes me feel that the mbp is going to last longer. and i charge 3 times a week. monday wednesday, and friday, usually friday i leave it attached with the magsafe until monday morning. this way safes alot of power, if can dun use the wifi, use ur workplace com, unless u need to send out emails or important stuffs when u r outdoor like lunch or late dinner. 1 bar brightness really does save battery...not only mentally heheh. same goes to wifi. but i hope u dont refrain urself from using full brightness n wifi even when u're plugged in right? |
